a quick demo of what the creatures will be like in piworld, this version is unoptimized and so it runs a bit slow, has a glitch with the health display, and could be better, but its my first attempt at creatures, and i think its a pretty good start, i hope you guys like it

Why does the "X" enemy change shape though?

Nice, so I assume monsters will all be animated, right?
I am curious if certain of them could have some simple ai, like one step towards you, another random, one towards you, one randon, and so on? Will there also be slower monsters (moving every two turn)? Will there be some special moves from monsters as well?
ANother thing, I would suggest making sure when someone (you or enemy) attacks, to exit the walking loop to perform the code in question, that way it will always remain fast when you're moving around

added the AI demo, it uses the same pic as the first demo
as of now i have yet to decide how i will do the fighting system, and yeah, all monsters will be animated
Edit: oops i need to change a few things in the AI demo quick, hold on :)

WOw nice, I would make the enemy only move every 2 loops, tho, else escaping him will be near impossible XD

yeah, piworld won't use the same AI as this, so far its just been a test to make sure i can make this type of thing ^.^
