Raising The Dead
« on: September 02, 2008, 12:17:35 am »
So yeah, I've begun working on this game again (as I promised I would at the end of the summer).  So far it's just trying to figure out my old code (been a while) but I plan on working on items and menus soon.

YAY, nice it's still alive. I was getting worried when you started coming online less and less often, I was afraid you moved on to different stuff. I hope to see new screenies soon :)

Great, this was looking awesome and I can not wait to see it going again! I hate having to relearn code, but sometimes you come up with a more efficient way or can not touch such greatness! Btw you have any old SS?

Sorry, I have no idea what this is, besides know it's a game, any links to a forum that has information on it? description, pictures, etc.?

(for some reasons everytime I see this topic title I always think it's a topic promoting necroposting o.O Idk why)

Ethanderial is a xLIB (or Celtic) RPG featuring animated tiles and the plan was to have a massive world, but I believe now it's intended to be smaller than planned but still quite big compared to a lot of alerady existing TI RPGs. I don't remember if it was ARPG or not and if there were multiple characters per battles, though.

Thanks DJ, I was just about to post those.  I haven't taken a screenshot in ages apparently, I got some new graphics to show off when I get a break from my homework.

I still haven't given much thought on how the combat will work, so as of now there may or may not be multiple characters whom you can fight with.  I know I want it to be more then just turn based (have some sort of real time mechanics no matter how small they may be).

Ah, those are awesome Speler.... simply put, it looks like the best Basic game animation I've ever seen.
I like the sounds of it, I will definitely download this when it's done, I say keep up the good work, and if I can help with anything, just ask  ;)

Maybe some kind of Ultima-ish tactical battle system?

I forgot to ask, what is the storyline behind this game?

Basically, you have to free the world from demon invaders commanded by the banished god of death (who cannot enter your world).  The actual story is relatively boring, it's going to be the subplots that make it interesting.

Care to share some of these subplots?

I missed these last posts. By subplots I assume it means side-quests/optional quests, right? Also how is it progressing?

Yeah, it's basically all sidequests that make up the larger storyline.  You don't need to beat any of them to beat the game, but good luck doing so.

Anyways, no chance of any work for at least a week or so.  I have so much schoolwork...
