Title: Rule and Conquer gameplay

Vote for what type of gameplay you would want to see from RandC -- one vote for everybody, please specify in a post if you chose "other"

Note to DJ Omnimaga:  If you could help me put this poll as part of my other thread, that would be great! (I have no idea how to do this)

EDIT: nvrmnd DJ.  If it might get it's own subforum in the future keeping it like this is perfectly fine ;)

I believe that continuous games are awesome (if they are properly saved ;)

I knew some people would like that idea, even though I don't like it much
 but if enough people vote for it I might consider it for real (though conquest would be awesome)

Timed mission suck because playing in a calculator is supposed to be done in a CLASS and so we sometimes have to do this or that and we just can't stop the mission, I think.

Oh, it's not to be timed, just that games would usually last 15 minutes, plus or minus some minutes based on skill and map size (think starcaft -- those games are usually about 15-20 minutes)

Even though, I like continuous to play classes and so in each class I keep on playing the game.

If I get bored, I will just restart and do it all again :D:D

This isn't possible unfortunately. I would need to merge both thread and I'm not sure the poll will remain as the other topic was started first. However, when there is signifiant gameplay progress with screenshots showing a mission in action, it will most likely get its own sub-forum.


As for my vote, I voted for others. Basically, I would like the first option but slightly different: assuming you can build various stuff, there should be some missions where you can't build anything, some where you can't until you find a base or something, some where you start with some stuff, not from scratch, some where you start from scratch, kinda like in Starcraft missions. Not just always starting from scratch. Try to have enough missions where you start from scratch and can build, though.

It kinda reminds me of Fire Emblem, so I like it.

Viva la conquest!  Yeah -- fire emblem was kinda an idea I used to come up with the conquest proposal.  Thanks for casting your votes guys -- I really appreciate it! ;D

Ok -- here hasn't been any new votes for a few days.  Conquest won with 4 votes, second place was missions with 3 votes, and DJ's idea with 2 putting it in 3rd place.

Anyway, I'm thinking of making the gameplay a mix of 1st and 3rd place -- A lrage conquest map, with missions you must also fulfill to advance the story and expand the world map.  I'll start working on that map right now ;)

Maye option 2, kinda like in Starcraft. However have it split in episodes, where you play humans, then next episode another race then another.

The other episodes could be made in the form of expansion sets too.

true, as I wasn't planning letting the player use skyland in the game.  That could be a beast expansion pack ;)

also, the chapters is a nice idea :D

That's a great idea, so people would download new parts when they finished old ones :) It's a bit hard for users but it's great for the developper

I'll do my best to strike a balance between usability for me, and for the user.  Who knows, I might even make a "chapter editor", where people can make their own story and mission expansions ;)

Option 1. Btw I assume there could still be some missions where some buildings/units are unavailable and where you can build nothing, right?

Ah cool. It kinda sucks to not be able to build everything when you want, but sometimes it's a good thing because it encourages the player to learn more about the early structures and units.

yeah.  I might make the first mission where you can only build forts, castles, and spawn only soldiers (humans)
