Before you say "It can't be done," check out this video:
If it weren't for S.A.D., I would probably end up doing this myself. It looks totally awesome! Any takers? If done the right way, I'm sure the game could support multiple different kinds of units being used at the same time.

Dibs.

Yep, I have seen interesting RTS as side scrollers. And doable in our calculators.
Have you ever played Glory Days (platform: GBA or NDS)?

Gentlemen, ARMY just became this.

Hmmm, I don't remember seeing side-scrolling RTSs, so this is new to me.
Raylin, good to hear!
-
woot~! Looks good already! I call beta tester! :)

O.O
You had my hopes up at first. I thought someone was starting it in the first post, but it would be cool if it was done.
Personally I would like to see a Starcraft clone similar to the real one, but with a lower unit cap to keep speed decent. A side-scroller RTS would be something great, though. I think if it's done there should be some hills and stuff, though.
Btw is the video from a NES ROM hack?

That looks pretty awesome! I think i am looking forward to SAD though :P even if that was ported 100%

One thing I wonder, though, is if this video is fake or not

I have no idea, but people can program for NESs without using hacks. Even if it wasn't a real NES project, someone did a sweet job on it

Yeah I just read on a blog somewhere that it is not real. However, even if it's just a ROM hack or a new game, it's still great. I wish it could be played on the computer.
