Originally I was just going to post this in the cage match topic, but then I realized that I want to talk about some other stuff as well.
Anyway, here is the fixed level editor that shouldn't freeze upon execution. look further down the thread for the actually-fixed editor
Also, I am looking into making a more official release within the next few weeks or so. So, 1) does anyone have any suggestions for blocks with special effects, and 2) does anyone feel like making some external levelpacks for me?
Thanks in advance :)
-
Rubber blocks/fan. If you hit one, you bounce off in the opposite direction
-
I'll do levelpacks.
-
I'm trying to remember if what I'm about to ask is correct (so if my suggestion is completely off, then ignore)
I think when you were displaying text, you had a sort of typewriter effect where the text wouldn't show up all at once -- do you think you could add a feature so that if I press a key or something, everything would show up all at once?
-
The level editor, when you go back to edit your levels again, doesn't reload the level. If you make any changes, even accidentally, it overwrites any previous work. :(
-
I finished the game, it's wonderful. I would love to try to make levels, but have no time at the moment.
-
Fixed level editor.
@Qwerty, the problem is that all the physics are like field forces: I can't change individual objects' directions :x
-
I have to say, this game is astounding :) I need to sit back down and really try hard to beat the levels so I can advance the storyline, its really quite involving! Needless to say this is the program i voted for in the Cage Match :)
-
Thanks Builderboy :)
I'm pretty much done now and am just waiting on anyone who feels like making any external levels. I added Michael's request, plus now it doesn't take extra time to unarchive/archive the appvar when you don't play story mode :)
-
I played it and it's awesome. Good job on this :)
Did you upload it in the staff downloads section btw?
-
Thanks DJ. For clarity's sake, I just merged the autocreated topic with this one
The Psyche: Official release v1.1 (also uploaded to ticalc.org)

An intriguing sliding puzzle game with an equally intriguing storyline.
Written in Axe, featuring 4 level grayscale and animated tiles.

Very nice!
-
I like that title screen and the levels. :D
-
Just saw this on ticalc. I havent played it yet, but the screenshots look awesome. I can't wait to try it out. Everything looks great.
-
I've played through the entire thing. This is excellent, and probably the most fun puzzle game I've ever played. I love how you worked a plot in.
-
Thanks guys :)
btw, what do the different color icons/symbols on ticalc mean? So far I've worked out that white=quadratic solvers, mario levels, humdrum stuff, etc, but I can't get the difference between green, red, blue, the star, and the magnifying glass ???
-
Red means a still screenshot, blue means an animated screenshot, green means featured, and I don't remember what the star means.
Edit: The star means it was reviewed.
-
Starred means that they have reviews, magnifying glass is a file with no reviews.
White is a normal file, red has screenshots, blue has animated screenshots, and green is featured programs.
Edit: Ninja'd
If you go into the archives at ticalc, the info is actually there (in small print) below the header.

Very, very polished! It looks superb!
I just beat the last level, that was tricky, probably took me 10 minutes with 30 tries. My only complaint was that the game seemed too short, but I guess that's why there's the level editor. Nice job.

Not really, according to Calc.org (http://www.omnimaga.org/oldsite/calcapr1.html), (http://web.archive.org/web/20010804063544/www.ticalc.org/images/misc/info.gif) indicates files with white icons, (http://web.archive.org/web/20010602143637/www.ticalc.org/images/misc/info-ss.gif) indicates files with red icons, (http://web.archive.org/web/20001017103708/www.ticalc.org/images/misc/info-ssa.gif) indicates files with blue icons and (http://web.archive.org/web/20010804062552/www.ticalc.org/images/misc/info-fp.gif) indicates files with green icons. :P
Kidding aside, nice update Squidgetx. I'll try that one later. :) Are you planning to add some more of your levels?
-
@squidgetx You can glitch the last level by changing the direction of the blocks as they cross over blocks in water. Try it and you'll see what I mean.
-
Sorry, I didn't see this earlier :P
I tried but couldn't replicate it. Could you post a screenie?
-
I don't know if it is too late, but I made a level set (with 11 levels).
-
Squidgetx, can I use one of your levels as a cameo in Cubes?
-
@JustCause: Sure
@program4; Nice, I'll try it out when I get some time :)
-
I should maybe try to make some levels, although they would most likely be too easy. :P
