Title: TI-84+CSE Isometric Tilemap Test
Post by: tr1p1ea on June 26, 2014, 07:29:52 pm

Just messing around and whipped up a small isometric tilemap test for the 84C.

Naturally like most tilemapping on this platform things are slow, even more-so due to my particular implementation which has a lot of overdraw :/

A few screenies.

Its not a project or anything, just messing around.

Please! I might actually consider getting a CSE if these are done!

Well... this exists:

It's the mobile version of age of empires. I used to have that on my "java-enabled phone"

Final Fantasy Tactics would be really cool. It looks really nice, tr1p1ea. I've always wanted to try isometric tilemapping. How are the sprites stored and drawn?

How fast does that even run?

This looks really great indeed tr1p1ea and I like the art for some of the tiles, especially the trees. It could also just be a sandbox game where you just build stuff like in Minecraft, but with much fewer layers. :)

Or the engine could be re-used for a Super Mario RPG clone. :P

Ah...good old J2ME (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_Platform,_Micro_Edition), giving mediocre games to mediocre phones since 2000.
