Title: 403 Forbidden
Post by: Scipi on April 04, 2012, 12:27:02 pm
Hello.

I help administrate my Xbox LIVE Clans website and we have a forum with Invision Power Board 2.3.3

Lately I've been getting the error 403 Forbidden whenever I try to post any kind of link to an image. I also get errors when I try to modify my own profile and group even though I am an Admin. What's even more curious is that even the Root Admin is having these issues as well.

I'd just like to know if there is a known cause for these issues and how can I fix them?

Thanks.

Did you make sure the appropriate folders are CHMOD'ed properly? This sometimes causes problems when uploading avatars or stuff.

Also I think 2.3.3 is very old and Invision has a poor record of security, so if it is possible, I would recommend making sure what version you have is up to date in terms of security or to upgrade.

Yeah, that sounds like a chmod problem. Make sure the avatar and attchements folders are writable. And if you can, upgrade your board software.
