Title: Anti-Pi
Post by: {AP} on February 07, 2009, 03:49:10 pm
Anti-Pi (http://antipi.omnimaga.org/) (Still {AP}, haha!)

Well... every amazing programmer I've seen had his own website.
So, I decided I'd make one too.

As I progress with Nyaar and other programs, I'll be showcasing them on this site. (Only the older version of Nyaar is available.)
Also, I'll be putting up comprehensive tutorials for pretty much every language I'm proficient in.
TI-Basic will be first with a guide for XLIB and Celtic III (since some people might have issues working with such APPS).
Later I'll go into things like VB6 (not many out there really) and even HTML/CSS/JS.

In any case... tell me what you think. =D

Nice; I like it. What is this "Eternity" MMORPG?!?!

Thanks!

Unfortunately, there's not too much work or information available on Eternity.
All that is known is contained here (http://ourl.ca/2963/57170#new).

Nice, I'll check out regulary.

I used to have affiliates on Omnimaga with most websites but unfortunately there was abuse so at one point I decided to stop adding new affiliates (every single staff wanted their site there, but back then we had over 25 staff tho). I might readd a small affiliate section though with specific websites or links.

EDIT: Talking about websites, did your Elektrokinesis website got hacked? Because I remember it looked like your new site but now look changed and most news are almost one year old, even thought you did much more recent updates, not to mention a lot of page didn't seems to load anymore

EDIT: I also noticed the TI-83 regular in your banner is backwards O.O
Title: Re: Anti-Pi

Wow... looks like Electrokinesis did get hacked or something... hm... I'll see what I can do about that.
(The layout for Electrokinesis was similar, but not the same at all.)

Also... I just ROFLMAO'd when I saw that the calc was backwards!
I never noticed before... my ex-girlfriend made it for me a long time ago and I happened to find in in the depths of my hard drive.
I don't think I'll change it either. I like the look. Works for a site with 'Anti' in the name. =D

hehe

But I didn't even knew what your nick meant until now, even if you joined the tempoary board in January last year I think x.x

Then I figured it meant AnarchistProgrammer by your youtube profile, but now I am unsure if it means that or Anti-Pi XD
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: {AP} on February 07, 2009, 07:52:39 pm
Well, it WAS Anarchist Programmer.
Until today.

I feel like my old name let off a bad vibe, not to mention, Anti-Pi just happened to be AP as well.
(Though when I thought up the name, about a year ago, I never noticed the relationship.)

In anycase, my programming name is, most likely permanently, Anti-Pi. =D

See?

aah ok ^^

I still consider myself as an anarchist musician, as I don't respect laws of mainstream music (read: I don't do stuff to sound like everyone else, else i lack inspiration)
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: {AP} on February 07, 2009, 08:20:53 pm
In which case, I'm technically "Anti-Pi, the Anarchist Programmer", since I don't respect laws of mainstream programming. ^_~
But... that's too complicated.

In any case, the pic above is the new Nyaar! title screen.
...I felt the old one was not cool enough. Not to mention the fact that I didn't have room for Help and Credits earlier.

It looks nice! I also dig the reversed calc. in the banner. It adds a nice unique touch!

Good work there, the banner looks really great! P.S. now you can build your own site from scratch...Real programmers right? Jking, I used to use FreeWebs!

I just use Freewebs for the hosting.
The CSS is modified by me from kskins, and the rest is all me too.

Thanks though. =P

Ah, sorry! Just thought it was a freewebs layout >.<, sorry~!

A freewebs layout that's THAT cool?
Psh, doubtful. ;P

No worries though... I've never seen anyone not use freeweb's layouts if they actually use the service at all so I understand assuming such.

Alright. Major face lift.
Anti-Pi (http://www.anti-pi.co.cc/)

I've changed hosts, domain (currently a free one, I'll pay later maybe), and switched to mostly PHP.
I have to thank Iambian for bringing up the topic of PHP. I'm liking this a LOT better.

Um... comments, yes?

this is pretty nice, glad you made progress on it :)

As for domain name, if you don't want to pay for one I could always make you a anti-pi.omnimaga.org or tehnyaar.omnimaga.org one, which would redirect to your site. 1and1 appears to have increased the subdomain limit so now I got 96 left. I got http://unposse.omnimaga.org , http://dj.omnimaga.org , http://xlib.mtv-music-generator.com and a secret one so far. I think the old limit was 20 or 50

Post by: {AP} on March 28, 2009, 01:42:47 am
That'd be great!

How about: antipi.omnimaga.org
I'll need you to set-up the nameservers as such though:

Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 28, 2009, 01:44:12 am
mhmm I'll see if this is possible to do so with subdomains on 1and1, else I'll prbly do a redirect

EDIT: aw, it won't let me set up name servers for individual subdomains, it only let me either redirect or use it for a folder directly on Omnimaga hosting x.x

sorry :S.
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: {AP} on March 28, 2009, 01:45:42 am
It is. I have access to my mom's 1and1 and tested it. (which is how I got the picture)
I'd get a subdomain there... but I don't like any of her domains.
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 28, 2009, 01:50:01 am
wait I see it now! it was a different option x.x

I was looking into Destination,, havent messed with this for a while. I remember for TIMGUL I had to check google to figure out where I could change my nameservers on 1and1.

I'll do the editing now, altough domain name might not be avaliable in hours
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: {AP} on March 28, 2009, 01:51:47 am
Yeah... the nameserver changes are supposed to be 24-48 hours alone.
On the bright side... I coded in a smart way and won't have to do any work to switch to the new domain when it gets up.

(EDIT: Holy crap! It's already up! Check it: http://antipi.omnimaga.org/)
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 28, 2009, 01:56:28 am
aah cool, one thing tho, since it has been a while since i last worked with name servers, do you know if I got to edit anything else besides the name servers for the domain anywhere, or is it on your side, like all the way back when I used Invisionfree/Zetaboards (we just had to enter the domain name in the domain manager and set it as primary)?

EDIT: sorry didn't saw your edit. That was fast, by the time the old IF board was about to shut down, Yahoo name servers (where i used to have my domain, since Invisionfree is affiliated with them) were dying or something, because when the board shutted down and i changed the server CNAME, after one entire week it was still not updating. I had to find other name servers (i think something like freednsafraid.org or the like) for it to work again until I switched to 1and1. For aussies and europeans maybe it won't show up until 3 days though

Haha, awesome.
I'm heading to bed. I'll see about getting the site slightly more up to date tomorrow.
It's a lot easier now that I'm doing it in PHP.
(Noticed that the Nyaar! page and News is pretty damn old.)

Later and thanks much for the domain! ^_^

Well since 1and1 increased the subdomain cap I don't mind giving subdomains to staff members now, providing they won't start another TI forum to compete (this used to be legion back in the old forums days)

Lol XD

but back in the old forum days, I remember everyone was starting his own TI forum just to have a forum and at one point I had an affiliate section and at least one staff per day begged for an affiliate spot for his forum

Firefox marked your site as a threat... Says something about malicious software. (it is not the first TI site with false positive...)
Annoying to navigate in the site with that...

yeah AP pmed me earlier on Yahoo and told me to take the domain down for now cuz he got infected and his site as well, don't click the site for now. I hope the domain gets disabled soon until it's fixed

It is already down... I wanted to look in the tutorials to see what he has...

Yeah, I apologize everyone.
If you checked the site in the past few days, I'd recommend a virus scan soon.
As Omni said, I was infected and it got into my .php files which I uploaded without knowing.

As for the tutorials, not much. Beginner TI-Basic video tutorials and the Celtic III Animated Background tutorial is all I have right now.

CSS all the way! :P

I think he uses a premade template from Freewebs or Webs, kinda like your site kalan, but I'm not sure (just saying because I saw the templates used on dozens of sites on Webs and Freewebs in the past 5 years, the only difference being colors). I'm unsure if it uses CSS though, since I never really checked the code
Title: Re: Anti-Pi
Post by: {AP} on April 07, 2009, 04:58:15 pm
All the code is mine. Coded from scratch.
Both the CSS and PHP. (albeit, I styled the CSS like a forum)

Though the actual images (the bars and background and such) were made by Kman of Kskins (looks like his site was taken down too) and then edited by me. The banner was made by my ex-girlfriend though.

Anyway, I don't think the site will be back up for a little while.
I'm too busy to work on it now.

Oh, php, make sure it's kinda secure on that side too, if you got admin panel and stuff people could upload viruses or something from there too. This happened with TIMGUL back when I used IPB. Unfortunately I don't know PHP so I couldn't help
