hmm well i have a new site (thanks to genolo) andi was wondering what i should do with it
i am curious about making it a calcdev resource site (eg have some type of online calc emu with login support for saes and stuffs) the hex dissasebler and maby a "modified" version of cemetech source coder all on one site
i am wondering if this is at all posibble as well (mostly like running wabbit one a web page) and if it would be usefull :P
any ideas /suggestions ???
currently me and my friend got bored so there is atually somthing there XD
the site is
http://geekboy.triforcelegend.net
i hope i can put it to good use XD

go for it :{O

There was actually an online emulator a while back that someone was working on. It was posted on Ticalc, but I dont remember how complete it was. It may have actually been a regular TI-83 emulator. I can't remember. It's been a while.
-
hmm well my friend seemed to know a way to get java running a exe on a embeded window so im gonna ask him about that more wensday during lunch if that works then im just gonna use wabbit XD
-
Yeah there was an 83 emulator, but no 83+ emulator...and you had to have your own ROM, which makes it impossible for iPod users to use, although I don't remember if it was flash or JavaScript
-
hmm how well does itouch support java cause if my idea works you will have a emu ..if you have a mouse like thing on the ipod :/
-
It doesn't support java from what I know, but it supports JavaScript to an extent...
Edit: there are ways to run java on the iPod, but it requires jailbreaking, so I have to wait until my warranty is up (1 year)

ah well hopefully itll run when u can do that :)
*geekboy wishes he could write the emu in java script XD
-
Yeah hopefully, well, we'll find out when the time comes...
-
As long as you don't start another TI forum I guess it should be fine :P (since there are too many for the demand)
-
I agree with DJ, there is no need for more forums.
Let me see. There are already 3 good Wiki about calculators. (WikiTI, TI-BasicDev, z80heaven)
But if you have time and the effort, you could do some news site and give rss feeds.
About tutorials for calculators there is plenty around, I think, except for a finished and understandable to all (almost) z80 tutorial.
Have some contest or mini-contest wouldn't be bad at all if you can lurk entries for the contest and is a fresh theme.
About resources, you can put some good stuff if you are up to. tifreakware has resources for basic and assembly but it could be bettered.
When I know about something else I will add to the discussion.

Me and probably 8 other people think your site sucks
that RickRoll ruined my day
Half j/k
Anyway, I was making a site myself, with reviews of some of the best games for 83 and 83+ series.
When DJ said on IRC there were already enough sites, I deleted mine without anyone here actually saw it.
I'd like to be part of a site which brings news, reviews, links and hex assembler tho I probably won't make it myself anymore. Btw, I used www.webs.com so I didn't have to program anything myself (altho it is possible)

Hey, at least he got 10 hits of traffic alerady >:( (altough Omnimaga is close to 2 millions)
j/k
But seriously did you at least kept backups of your stuff NF? I mean, if you did reviews or videos, they could easily be backed up over here, in posts or whatever (I could add an article), plus you can post your vids on Youtube if any
-
Not yet, I had some stuff in mind but the site itself was just built. I did have a section thingy on with how to get games, and how to get them on your calc (with links of games, shells and connecting program and everything, just had to add screenies)
I deleted it 6 hours after I made it Dx
-
Reviewing not reviewed stuff in ticalc would nice of your part. :)
I will try to do my ti site someday.
-
Well I'd also like to, when I made a bunch of reviews, collect them on one page, per genre, with a screenshot of the gameplay + a dowload link. That way the better games would be filtered out of the others.
-
hmm a review section that actually sounds like a good plan i still need to learn how to do all of this stuff though and it is mostly gonna a be a excessive free time (meaning after im out of things to do in my free time)
but if people can help me get it set up and stuff ill gladely learn and look over what you are submitting :) and more than likely i use it
for the rss feed thing i would love to do that cause we started thinking about it but never was able to figure out how we would do it so i vote we start thinking on that as well :)
-
Hey, do you think you comply to host the Online z80 Assembler?
http://ourl.ca/3851/71719
-
Mhmm if he can't I could maybe try. I could create you a FTP so you can upload. Just make sure to not upload other kind of stuff there so I won't run out of space :P
-
sure i would love to
i know i have the right php stuffs as well i checked a whle ago i have version 5.xxxx so it should be good pm me with instructions ill make a new home page and set it up :)
-
Thanks to both then.
Once I have things tested on my computer both in Windows and Linux, I will PM you. Most web servers are Linux btw...
I should code a command line console in PHP instead of using hard coded tests...
-
http://geekboy.triforcelegend.net
ok if you go there now you can see all the php info for the host server thing hpoe it help :)
-
that seems better than mine at least. Now what I hope is that since it's free hosting that they won't cancel their free hosting plans without warning or stuff like that. Just make sure to backup your entire server content periodically
-
You solved my problem. :o I am still learning PHP... x.x
phpinfo() is the solution... Some discoveries:
My host disables the functions I need to access SPASM, so it didn't work. >:( Now I should check this for other hosts.
Your phpinfo() show the info about the system OS and architecture, so I can compile SPASM correctly for it... No need to use shell commands or command line to find this out.
I am more reliefed about the future of the online assembler.
-
actually it isnt a free host i just got a subdomain on the main account thanks to genolo :) so unless they drop the account it will remain up :)
edit: the phpinfo() thing i got from google cause you said it was dependent on the version of php (
*geekboy loves google
-
aah ok I see
-
Tell me if you want any mysql databases, I can make as many as you want for you to use/play around with :P
-
might possibly call u up on that geno if i can get my idea to work :)
(which will in teh end require users and stuff XD)
