http://radio.omnimaga.org/
So it's what could replace omnimaga.org/radio.
Features:
-Javascript/Flash/HTML5 driven
-Compatible with pretty much every browser since IE6
-Uses the same playlist as on http://radio.57o9.org/
-Highly themable
To do:
-Most of the functionality is done, design left.
More coming soon... Of course, suggestions are welcome.
-
This is pretty cool. :)
Nice job. :)
-
No music plays for me :S But it looks good.
-
Very nice indeed.
Also it might be a good idea to get rid of this file http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=526 because it goes to a flash music player thing which is no longer hosted here.

We should replace this link by the new player.
-
Yeah maybe.
Also the >> and << buttons do not skip to the next song for me in opera. Also the play button does nothing, although Pause allows me to pause/unpause songs
-
Right now << and >> skips 1 second back and forth in the song, could use them for prev/next song, that's a good idea. For the play button it works if the song is stopped.
-
Oh ok, thanks for the info.
EDIT: Also I noticed the Ace of base song is the wrong recording. It's supposed to be a new recording with better sound quality, but now it still plays the tape one.
-
It didn't work at first in Fire fox, but after I refreshed it seemed to work fine. Perhaps have the song listing in a box that has like 20 songs max so you don't have to scroll down the whole page to view them. There could be clickable foward and back arrows to display the next 20 or previous 20 songs. Or perhaps have the songlist in a box that has a scrollable selection with arrow keys up and down to scroll through the song list. A playlist option while it is open would be nice too.
-
Update:
-Added some CSS
-Prettified and fixed the player at the top
-Added prev/next buttons
-Jump to next song when finished
-
Indeed, it only works if we refresh it :S
-
It works first try for me in both Fx5 and on my iTouch.
-
Whoo, its works nice!
I just had to enable plugins for radio.omnimaga.org, but that's a issue with me :)
-
Update!
-Some small fixes
-New URL parameter: ?play=<song number> (useful for linking a specific song, don't rely on it though) Ex.: http://radio.omnimaga.org/?play=151 goes straight to song #151 and autoplays it.
-Seek bar also acts as a loading bar (à la Youtube)
-
How is the seek bar suppose to work exactly?
For me it does the loading nicely but I can't seem to figure out how to use it.
-
You have to drag the bar to seek in the song, I guess... Which browser do you use?
Also added filesizes and other pertinent info.
-
I've tried dragging it. It just shows up as a really squished textbox for me. I'm using Fx8 nightly.
-
Shiny new buttons! Some of them don't work though :(
EDIT: You're being very exact with times O.O

Firefox doesn't support input type=range yet, apparently, so you can't drag stuff. You still get a nifty loading bar though.
-
Ah ok. Well hopefully they add it in soon then :/ You could make a custom one though :)
-
Another update:
-Google Chrome Notifications (much like OmnomIRC, but they vanish after 20 seconds, link to enable them at the bottom)
-???
-
I'm afraid to check out the "???" thing. x.x
EDIT Accidentally did CTRL+A and saw nothing hidden X.x
-
Actually it's more hidden than that. Hidden in the code.
And I made the copyright line more visible, thanks to DJ_O for the suggestion.
Also Netham45 is a lobster.
-
Oh ok I guess I'll check that :P
EDIT lol nice but you need to make it easier to trigger x.x. Not everyone will expect to type all that nor to have a song playing.
-
Yeah, I fixed a couple more bugs about that.
-
UPDATE
-Added Shuffle feature
-Song title at the top no longer says undefined when it can't find the ID3 tags
-
Nice. By the way do you plan to add some formatting for the ID3 tags?

What do you mean? Right now it's Artist - Album - Song title. Also shows Artist/Song title in the Chrome notifications.

Great, shuffle!
-
Yay, shuffle! That's a feature I really use.
-
Update suggestion: Add stats to show how many times each song got listened to (maybe if you know how many hits each file got you can manually add existing stats and continue incrementing them as people listen more). If you add that it would be nice some sort of top 10 was added or something
-
That might be a good idea.
-
UPDATE:
- Added visualizations (you need to have WebGL support enabled, it might lag a lot, that's why it's on a separate page)
-
Wow in Chrome I get 32 FPS but in Firefox I get 3 and Opera 1 O.O
Also lol at how horribly IE renders the page. Btw it seems Firefox renders it a bit differently too at the top.
-
Wow I am liking the moving equalisations that 'follow' your mouse cursor.
It doesn't really lag that much on Chrome, may try it with other browsers.
-
This is late... But yay it's online again :)
-
very cool Juju./me applauds
-
Also I noticed the "V" buttons were removed. What did the "V" buttons do btw? I clicked on them and they did nothing.
Would you be able to download each song using the "V" button if you recoded it?
-
They were intended to give a download link, but I never implemented that feature.
-
Oh. That feature would have been mighty useful, though there might not be an easy way to implement for each song.
-
Actually, it's easy to do, but I have to get every link one by one. And there's 175 of them.
-
Not to mention for certain songs it would have to be a link to bandcamp or something instead of the actual file. Also public downloading might eat your bandwidth because of bots and stuff putting the songs in their own players. On the old forums this happened once and a song was downloaded about 3000 times in one day.
-
Yeah, I thought of this, linking to the Omnimaga downloads section/Bandcamp instead of just directly giving the link to the mp3 file.
-
Yeah that's true, because even in normally downloading, the download link url still has to be clicked on there manually which leads to an attachment link that directs you to the file. And if downloading several in succession, you have to keep going back and forth between the list of downloads page and the download information page.
-
W8, I take some of that stuff back
It actually wouldn't be that hard to implement as each download has a download attachment id.
All you'd have to do is take the url and change the download id. Which might work.
Download file page: http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=**
Direct link: http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=downfile&id=**
-
Yeah, but you still have to find the attachement ID of each of the songs. Plus, some of the downloads links are on Bandcamp.
-
Yeah true. It would take a while, but going to the downloads section page, and hovering over the links or something and noting down the ids, isn't too slow.
I am kinda of doing it now for DJ_O's songs as I am downloading every one of them (yes I'm paranoid) to compare them with the versions I already have for the torrent of DJ_O's songs I'm going to make.
-
Juju,
Finally I am unsure if the download option would be a good idea, since almost all of my songs that are not remixes will most likely be sold one day anyway. As of now 35 of my hardcore songs will eventually make it to iTunes. They'll most likely remain in Omni archives for registered members, although 14 of the hardcore songs for sale will be in higher quality audio format.
Also could you check if you got any of my song in a format higher than 128 kbps? If you do, could you list the names so I can check if I need a copy?
-
Sure.

-
Thanks, so it seems that there are no extra HQ songs I no longer have.

Oh. It's only some of the TotKotM songs and Dark Eurodance that are 320k actually. TotKotM (the song) and other earlier created songs in that album such as QftLA are 128k (though the 320k version is still available at dj.omnimaga.org)
