See the chat menu item on the top. That said, you'll probably have more luck slowly working through the issue here so that others can see what happened who aren't checking chat that often.

No, you'll need to be on the TI-OS home screen for communication to work between your computer and the calculator.

What OS version does your calculator have? What version of TI Connect are you using? Have you tried TI Connect CE or TiLP? Have you tried transferring from another calculator through a link cable?

I have no idea what os and no idea what version and I have not tried any of ti connect ce and TiLP but am about to and dont understand the last part, also is it worth trying on a differnt computer

You can transfer files between calculators. So I'm asking if you've tried doing that to see if it's just an issue with transferring between the calc and a computer, or if it's a problem with the calc.
