Teaching myself the new HTML5 technologies lately. I'm slowly improving this canvas-engine engine I made (along with improving LuaIDE), and yesterday I found out how websockets work and integrated it into the engine.
So check it out and have fun while I find new cool features.

That was fun to mess around with so far. But you will need to make sure that no code hacking is possible, because earlier I could easily up the speed of my character <_<
-
they should walk on all four hooves :P

How does one "hack" a game without cheat engine lol
Also, from my end, lots of characters glitch around and go super fast and take mine over...

Some browsers lets you edit the javascript. Now it's easier to change the speed!
There's still some bugs left, some people don't properly disconnect...

This. Just open the source then change the code :P. Even IE lets you do that (although I don't think it lets you apply changes)

Then send the keypresses to teh server and let the server calculate everything :P

I could actually do that instead.

Only that that would require a lot of networking, wouldn't it?

I just checked this out. As I told you, it looks like a really cool little demo. I'd actually really like to see this developed further. I also like the character standing on 2 feet personally. What resources are you using to read up on html5?
-
I've just decided this should be a full-blown MMORPG, so I've laid out some ideas in a Google document, feel free to comment.

How did I miss over this topic before? :P
I'm liking the ideas there, good luck in making this. (I'd help, but i know nothing about HTML5) :/
Also, I clicked the FB links and liked the pages. I didn't know you had your own page :P I shared you on my own.
Edit: I wonder if we should have a topic for people to share FB pages they admin on. Would be interesting.

I hope you'll add more content later; there's only one room right now.
-
MLP MMORPG? O.O
SO EPIC :D
and yeah, leave room to add more content later on :D
-
Awesome Juju! :)
-
Will maps be tilemap-based like SNES RPGs or will they be 3D-like? The former would be nice, since there aren't that many 2D MMORPGs.
-
I aim for a more 8-bit style, kinda like SNES RPGs.
-
Ah ok, but SNES is 16 bit actually :P (like Sega Genesis, but with a bit more colors)
-
Yeah I meant that. 16-bit or something.
-
woo, i like such rpgs with snes style maps!
Looking forward to it :D
-
My feelings on this :D
Edit: erm please stay tuned while I fix the yt link
Edit (Juju): Fixed it :P

Dang, beat me to it :P (Also, I didn't know you could link Youtube videos that way O_o)
Yep, sums up my feelings on it as well :P
-
Yeah, gonna be awesome.
Also anyone's good at pixel art?
-
I know Keoni is...
-
Keoni totally kicks your pixel ass.
-
For pixel art you would have to ask in the appropriate section, else your request might get missed.
