Backups are important. If something fails with the current omnimaga server, then we still have all the backups and could simply set up omnimaga elsewhere.

EDIT: Also, if you are curious, my whole server, so also the omnimaga image uploader, is been automatically backed up at GMT 8am, I think. As my backup system works waaaaay different it doesn't give a downtime, though it would be waaaaaaaay more a PITA to restore mysql stuff, if i'd be able to restore it at all, but as the image uploader uses the file system that is just fine :)

This reminds me of the Ticalc "Fire in server storage room" or something a few years ago (I enjoy browsing old new articles) that make them thankful they had a backup.

I don't think it was meant to be a takeover, though, more like an obvious April Fools prank involving each site swapping names/themes. Otherwise there would be posts about takeovers by some staff :P

6981: You are scared of doing another OS 2.71MP-esque prank like in 2011, because you are scared TI will do it for real (in fact they partially did with Boot code 1.03  <_<).

And yes 2013 was the theme swap prank. This year was the TI Buys Omni prank.

It might sound weird, but OS 2.71MP was very easy to come up with back then. However, you won't realize it unless you were around when NspireOS 2.1 (the first to have an anti-downgrade protection) came out, a few months after OS 2.53MP got released, in addition to TI's possible attempt to discontinue the 84+SE worldwide which generated much tantrum on calc forums back then. OS 2.71MP was pretty much a parody of all the stunts Texas Instruments had pulled on the TI community in 2010-11. Of course it would have been impossible to pull off without the help of ThePenguin77's who offered to create a fake OS, though. Everything TI did back then is why so many people thought that the OS was real. :P
