QUOTE ("gmc fora")
Okay, you all have probably noticed I haven't been real active around here for a few months. :oohmy.gif Anyways, next school year I will be going to university of portland to be a computer science frosh. (I've got a really nice new http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115320 too for graduation. I recommend acer if you ever need a new notebook computer or monitor. :D ) I've decided that although I've loved working with gamemaker and doing this sort of thing that I should move on. I will be learning C and C++ and will continue making awesome games, hopefully eventually professionally. However since I will not be using this great (though still kinda buggy) first person shooter engine I have decided to release the source! This will all be free for anyone to use, simply put my as "spengo" in the credits. Be sure to credit everyone that I have credited in the making of this engine as well since I don't want their work to go unappreciated either. The graphics are crappy, but if you have a use for them, they are free to distribute as well, simply add me to the credits page and you're good to go. (every sprite, every model, all graphics are made by me, woot!) I may pick this game up again after I learn more C++ but it will be a complete rewrite. :)smile.gif
Here be some old screenshots:

And here be the latest release. (note weapons descriptions in upper corner are buggy, too lazy to fix atm :Ptongue.gif ) This includes an executable file as well as a couple gm6 files I was working on and all the models and other data. Extract folder to run.

This includes moving enemies with simple ai, platforms, mouselook, lighting, multiple weapons, vehicles, perfect terrain collisions, sniper zoom, 3d animations and models, and a bunch of other nifty stuff I'm sure will be useful. Anyways have fun!

If anyone is interested in what I am programming currently it is a racing game in z80 assembly language for the TI-83+/84+ series calculators. After this I may make a game for the 68k calculators (TI-89) in C or the 68k assembly. It can be viewed along with many other excellent projects at http://omnimaga.dyndns.org/index.php?showtopic=51&st=0 or http://kvince83.tengun.net/maxboard/viewtopic.php?t=172&start=0

Now one thing I must get clear right up front is that I want no pms or emails about how to use this engine. Although I'm flattered that you would ask my help, it can be bothersome sometimes. So anyways, go download and see the ueberness and then don't ask me for help about it. ;)wink.gif If you want help ask in this topic, and I can't guarantee I'll get back to you but someone else may be able to help. See you all later!

So that's the end of that anyways. :)smile.gif I may pick the game up again later with a completely rewritten engine in C++ or somethin'.

No, it was originally in GML using a program called gamemaker. GML is a scripting language similar to C++ but with many specialized commands for game creation. It's very easy to use but it can be a little slow and it relies heavily on directx.

I have played several versions of this game and I enjoyed it! I hope that one day you can make such a game in a language you would prefer. Good luck!
