This is a work in progress game, I am trying to nail down the gameplay before I add an extra coat of pretty.  I have halted development to focus on cb and a few other games, when I resume work, I plan to make a new engine for it

I like the shine/gleam on the pieces. They look almost good enough to eat =)

This looks nice, except would it be OK for you to choose another color instead of dark red for some pieces?  It doesn't seem to have enough contrast.  Maybe green or blue would be better?

Color and graphics are the last thing I am working on...and the shine is just a test for the bg effect image, there will be a ton diffrent background things going on eventually, including effects coppied from cb.

By "cb" I guess you got bold enough to refer to Combat Ball by two letters. That's when you know you are ballin' lol j/k ;)wink.gif Anyways yo that's going to be sick by the looks(and your talking) of it.

I think cb is epic enough of an amature game to desserve a two letter accronym, and its faster to write.  Anyways, I am also thinking about adding multiple game modes, and of course I will have highscores.  I am making music right now, and would say its about 50% done minus extras and polish.

Yes multiple game modes would be awesome. Would you be able to add something like say... multiplayer acrossed the internet?? Possibly. Acutally!!!! wait!!!! You (possibly) could add multiplayer to combat ball. Could you imagine 4 people in a combat ball arena going all out????? Uhhh I can only dream unless...

It is possible but I have no skill at online type stuff.  If I figure out how to actualy get a connection to work, itd be a piece of cake (well, asuming no lag...but anyways).  Added a whole selection of diffrent orbs, few visual updates, some more cb progress, etc.  Should have a short break from classes in 2-3 weeks.

Well, a new screeny for news of progress.  Got some music thanks to Kevin, recycled a few sound effects from cb to round the sound out.  As far as the game its self, got the orbs to fall properly (an alignment glitch used to make pieces get stuck on occasion).  You can see the cursor orb selector thingy (hmmmm, maybe that isn't catchy enough) on an orb, it spins slowly.  Also, the score very basically works on a per orb destruction basis but need to get the multiplier done.  Levels are also still buggy, and I need to play tweak it till it has the "feel" to it.  All in all though, this will likely be done soon.

I don't feel the need to explain the new type of orb, you'll figure it out when the game comes out.

in CB blood effects right now are primitive mix of static sprites and object particles (not very effecient), when I get around to finishing the demo, the next version will have more complex blood with better effects and less resource drain.

Well, almost all of the core game mechanics work now, at least primitively.  I am still tweaking the user controlls and trying to get the dificulty to click.  After that, its all adding polish.  Oh, and I know I haven't posted a new CB update in a long time, but I hope to get one out sometime in the near future.
