TI 84 turn off fails
« on: November 14, 2011, 03:04:45 am »
hello there

i made my ti-84plus reincarnate yesterday, because of the nostalgic feelings and because i was checking if i didn't have some nice old games i never released, and i have :)

but now to the point: i switched my 84plus on, made a rom image for wabbitemu, and now it doesn't want to shut off with the [2nd][on] keys????? I also have a strange error message on the screen, i don't know where it comes from, but it's different, it says:

Error # 215
BASIC Ex Err:BRK
1. Quit
2. Goto error

i also can't get any screenshot from it, even if it was on the homescreen...

apps/thing installed:
DoorsCS7
MirageOS
Boxman
Pong

When you press 2nd+ON, does it shut off then turn back on? Or does it just do nothing? If it's the latter, then your question might be answered there: http://ourl.ca/13696 (someone asked help about the same thing two weeks ago)

I hope it's not the former, though O.O (I bought a 89T that did that once. I had to remove the batteries to keep it turned OFF, else it immediately turned back ON as I put batteries back in. I got another one in exchange)

Yeah, I think sometimes bad ASM code can disable the ON key. After all, there are some programs to do that on ticalc.org. Also the ON key disabling possibilities are one more reason to backup your progress often. :P

I got that error too, this will fix if you cannot ramclear (happened to me some time ago):
Code: (write this program) [Select]
AsmPrgm
C7
then run it.  (do not forget to archive everything first)
Fixed!
