I had a lot of fun installing TiLP my first time.  "dll missing" "dll missing"  I spent so much time on Google...
I now have a "dll's" folder for whenever I need to reinstall TiLP.  Is the lack of dll's the problem?  I could attach a zip with the dlls if it's needed.

Go to your drivers c:\windows\system32\drivers\ and highlight libusb0. Who made it?

no libusb in here, sorry :S

Ok, so I assume you are on a 64 bit windows then. Well, there's my input.
zStart v1.3.013 9-20-2013

TI-Connect Help
You can build a statue out of either 1'x1' blocks or 12'x12' blocks. The 1'x1' blocks will take a lot longer, but the final product is worth it.

oh, TILP has some problems with installing the GTK library sometimes, so I would say to use http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-win/ for a manual install next time ;) (unless that is what you did...) and as for the USB error, it has to do with unsigned driver, I beleive that the upcoming TILP will fix this ;)

TI-Connnect actually works on Windows 7. I have it running on it (64 bit patch). It doesn't work 100% of the time, though.

TiLP makes installing ti-connect twice as hard.
And reciprocally, because unless special third-party software is used, Windows hates having multiple drivers for the same pieces of hardware ;)

As I've just written in http://ourl.ca/4358/133188 (and as is, besides, written in the installation notes / readme / whatever), it's not quite good to do so ;)

Well, since hardly anybody is helping with testing (because everyone is busy with school or work, and I fully understand that), I don't plan on making TILP II 1.15 use the newer, signed version of the drivers, thereby removing the warning when installing the driver and the need to go to the special testing mode for unsigned drivers on 64-bit Windows.

Does the readme states how to get around the missing DLL issue then? You say it is bad to copy DLLs to the app folder but you do not provide an alternative solution. In my GTK error case, I couldn't even find one on Google.

Missing DLL issue, no, but this is an issue that shouldn't happen IMO (see below).
What the README explicitly states is how to get rid of errors related to missing entry points :)
Code: [Select]
Note: if you are using 'The GiMP', you might encounter DLL problems...
The GTK+ package (1) provided with the GiMP might not be fully compatible with one used by TiLP/TiEmu.
The package (2) requested by TiLP/TiEmu may be compatible with the GiMP.
Thus, if you are using The GiMP, you are strongly encouraged to uninstall (1) and install (2).
Code: [Select]
3°) If you are getting any errors with DLLs, such as "The procedure entry point
atk_relation_set_add_relation_by_type could not be located in the dynamic link
library libatk-1.0-0.dll", make sure you have one and only ONE version of the
GTK+ DLLs. If unsure, remove all GTK+ packages and install one again.

Quote
You say it is bad to copy DLLs to the app folder
Yes, because doing so (either by the developer or by users) triggers more support requests, for the program itself or for other programs, depending on e.g. the order the multiple GTK+-using programs running simultaneously are started, or the order the multiple GTK+ copies were installed :)
Quote
but you do not provide an alternative solution.
At least one of the GTK+ runtimes for Windows is designed to be installed in a shared manner, as is right due to Windows' limitation that triggers clashes between different DLLs of same name even if they're different, incompatible versions living in different paths. The alternative solution could very well be to please ask the program's author to make the program compatible with shared installs of the GTK+ runtime :)

A technical note: instead of copying DLLs wholesale, users could also use Link Shell Extension to create hardlinks to the shared DLLs, into the folders of buggy programs, to make them happy. Unlike copies, hardlinks would still let buggy programs always reference the shared DLLs, even if said DLLs are updated - that's precisely the difference between copies and hardlinks. But this is still not quite satisfactory :D

Ah ok, I'll check into the later thing. Personally the only GTK/GTK+/GTK2/whatever program I am using on this computer right now is Levak's emulator.

Howdy everyone, I have ti nspire with 84+ keypad on it.

I connected PC and Calculator using the USB Cable. Installed TI Connect and then went to DeviceExplorer, and the program managed to find my calculator and open the device explorer correctly.

However, when I try to transfer programs (by dragiing them to the TI Connect Interface), I get this error message:

Usb communication error: unexpected packet ( 8C080008)

I have no idea of what it means and google is not helping me.

The USB Port is fine I tested it with a Pen drive. However, I can't transfer files.

Help me please,

David

I had same problem, i reselvod whit shut off my anti moustik, the ultrasons cause this problem for me.

Sorry for my bad english.

In french :

J'ai un programme qui émet de ultrasons pour fuir les moustique, une fois éteint tout a remarché ;)

Hi and welcome here, but... an ultrasound anti-mosquito system? O.o

Or do you mean something in particular in your house like a microwave was causing interferences?

I think he have a program that generate really high-pitched sounds (ultrasounds), you know, like they use on dogs. And somehow, that program interfered with TiLP. Nothing to do with microwaves.

Also welcome here :) We have a strong french community here, so no problem with the french :)
