Terrible terrible problem....
« on: November 11, 2012, 02:09:44 pm »
Ok I am using Pixelscape to make my sprites and I exported them as Axe source. When I open it to edit the program I get an inverted screen with a bunch of random scrolling chars then a RAM clear  :'( . What's the problem and how can I fix it? I am using zStart and DoorsCS.

I don't know if it's the direct cause of the problem, but Zstart and DoorsCS have an history of causing problems when installed on the same calc (I think the issue is on DCS side). You need to get rid of one of them.

What DJ said.
If you don't mess with TI-BASIC very much, you probably want zStart more than DCS7. I keep DSC7 because I do a lot of TI-BASIC programming.

But why do you compile for DCS ?
zStart alone can run Noshell and Ion progs, so why not compiling for one of those ?

Oh no no I'm not compiling for DCS. I was wondering if I were to download a DCS compiled game would zStart be able to open it?

No.
But do you really want to be able to run those 2 games compiled for DCS or do you prefer having compatibility issues ans not be able to run any program ? ;)
Also note that nobody told you to get rid of DCS, removing zStart would also fix the compatibility issues ;)
(but I personnally chose zStart because it has more awesome features and even coupled to MirageOS it is still smaller than DCS alone)

How exactly did you open the file? (Was it archived? Prgm>Edit? etc)

Also, I'm fairly certain zStart can run DCS games as long as they don't use DCS library calls. (Of course, you could always tell zStart to use DCS as the shell in the Program Settings>Shell menu). I think I remember adding the ability to read DCS headers, so they should be recognized.
