I don't use my desktop so I don't see a need in wasting my memory for displaying over 9000 folders

What are these icons you speak of? I really don't like them on my desktop... Other than trash (otherwise it's too bleak) anyhow, as for the tiles screen, I like having the small patterns in the colours in the office and gaming sections.
