I don't mean Fridrich, although it basically is. My term is "basic method" when it's really just simplified Fridrich. It is the method on the Rubik's Cube official website with a few enhancements. Specifically, I solve the cross and corners on the bottom so I don't have to look. I also solve with any color as the top. I learned to solve the cube with a multicross as the finished product and also with a mixed centers as the final product. Now I use the Petrus method (I move quickly in my hobbies) and am using OLL andd PLL algorithms for the last step. I'm also using a hybris Fridrich/Petrus to solve the last layer with Sune and Niklas, but I still can't quite grasp the F2L step of Fridrich with ease. I usually do it on accident because of how ridiculously intuitive it is. I'm learning Heiss, it should make intuitive solving significantly easier.
Keep trying.

So yeah I'm training a bit with my cube. I can now solve it without looking at the manual ( XD ) and my speed solve record is 1'39". Not bad but I could do better if my cube wasn't as loose as it is (it went through several dismantles), though it's better than brand new cubes which are very hard to rotate.

Yeah that's what I figured out. :P Mine is the original cube and I recently put some adhesive tape on it to fix some stickers that started to go away. <_<

I had a cube (original style) that was completely black because I peeled all the stickers off. And threw them away.

When I realized there wasn't much of a point to a Rubik's Cube without colors, I cut some squares from colored paper and taped them on :P It was ugly and clunky but the colors actually stayed on better than the original stickers (because I used some really weird super-strong tape).

That's why I don't get the point of Rubik's Cubes. Is it all about learning a method found by a genius without being a genius yourself, then showing off about your ability to apply what you learnt ?
At least that is how I see Rubik's Cube solving for now, so if there is more than it, tell me, because for now I don't get it.

edit this post is not meant to be mean, I just don't get the point of Rubik's Cubes and I am asking people why they use their Cubes. But if you still find my post rude, I won't get upset if I get downrated.
