Messed up MP3 Player

I recently got this mp3 player
http://www.machspeed.com/manuals/v418manual.pdf
and now about 3-5 days after I got it it no longer works. When turned on it stays at a blue loading screen indefinitely(It has never left it even though its been on for 12+ hours(attached to a charger)). I at least need a way to access the files on it. Anyone have any ideas?

Can you connect it to your computer? You should be able to navigate to it and recover the files manually. I did that for my iPod recently when it went through the wash and got fried. :P

The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

on windows it automatically tries to install itself onto the computer which I need admin rights to do and I'm on a school computer... Is there any way to prevent it from auto running without admin rights on XP?

There are, but I don't know specifically of any. Can't you just open up My Computer and browse to the mp3 player?

It doesn't appear on my computer. when I plug it in it says I need to sign in as an admin to install it when I say i can't it sys could not install hardware

The only other thing I could think of, is installing Linux on a flash drive (Damn Small Linux or the like could possibly work, definitely Ubuntu) and doing it there. If your school computer doesn't have Boot security then you should be fine.

I know that kind of mp3 player, and sadly enough I can say that they are cr*p.
What you *might* try is to find an utility to flash a new firmware to it. You will need to do some googling for that though (unless one is included).

Well, a firmware is the software that runs on the device, and it might have got corrupted.
Anyway, I've done some googling but found nothing, so I'm afraid that you can't update it.

Your device is also being sold under the name "DIFRNCE MP1855". Maybe you'll find some more info for this name.

I hope it is not defective either. In any case, i hope you still have the receipt for warranty purposes.

I remember I had a mp3 player a while ago and didn't use it for a while, then when I tried connecting it to my computer it would not get detected at all anymore. It was like if I plugged in nothing.
