The IBM ads actually make sense, kinda. There's a lot of potential for Watsons in the real world.

But if this goes too well, someday kids'll just ask their computers to do their homework for them x.x

That's probably what they said of graphing calculators, though ;D

-You mean they don't do that already? No wonder why I never got my homework done! :P

I just finished watching the last episode of this series of games, and it was great :) I liked how they show the various possible answers, and Watson's certainty for each.

Watson officially pawns everyone. But it still can't accomplish the basic task of human communication, it can only answer questions based on its matches through its algorithms
There are a lot of Things you didn't know about until you clicked that link.

They must be keeping "Holmes" in reserve for when they manage to successfully emulate a Vulcan...
I'm gonna be THAT GUY and point out Watson was named after some IBM dude, not the Sherlock Holmes character.

Watson officially pawns everyone. But it still can't accomplish the basic task of human communication, it can only answer questions based on its matches through its algorithms
But that's all we're ever going to get out of a computer, isn't it? Or at least until we figure out what sort of algorithms our own brains use :P
