My Rubik's cube record for 3x3x3 is 42 seconds, and 6 minutes for a 5x5x5, and 3 minutes for a 4x4x4.

The size doesn't necessarily affect the difficulty.  I learned how to solve a 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 without help from teh internetz.

I think the 2x2x2's easier. Basically, you're just solving for the top, then the bottom corners, exactly as on a 3x3x3.
