For those who wonder if the TI-Nspire CX screen is as blurry as the Clickpad and Touchpad models, it seems that the screen might not be too bad about that. According to an unrelated video posted by ntTV, which shows the calculator in action, the screen definitively seems to have a higher refresh rate than some of us feared. That said, since this is a video, it might not be 100% accurate and the screen might look darker, but at least we can see that the screen seems closer to the Prizm on that point:

We do not know if the calculator speed will be similar to the other models of the same family, though. Also, according to the TI community, the statement on the TI-Nspire CX page mentionning a programming environment was there since before TI confirmed to some people that there would not be any new programming capabilities and that it happens to describe the same environment as on the Clickpad and Touchpad models. Note that there isn't anything official, however, since a lot of the info came from TI-Cares, but this might give us an idea of what's awaiting future TI-Nspire CX owners.

In other news, Casio PRIZM hacking continues, despite being quieter lately. The new Prizm mini-SDK now includes a GUI and the Insight application now includes a graphical demo showing how fast displaying things can be when not drawing directly to the screen, but rather the VRAM instead. The screenshot below runs at 10 FPS but on the calculator it looks more like 20 or 25:

Same here. I bet it will take a bit before coming out here, though, and will cost an arm and a leg compared to the already insane price in USA.

I wonder if TI tried to phase out the 84 series with the Nspires...

My math teacher is a die hard 83 plus family user.  Plus, I don't think he would be too happy with the programming (or lack of) capabilities.

With the PRIZM, does drawing to the VRAM work like drawing to the framebuffer on the nspire?

I'm not sure if anyone is able to replay to that... Those who program for the Prizm don't program for the Nspire as far as I know. What is the frame buffer like?
