To be honest, the prank might actually have even caused some community damage, because following those days, there are forum members who had vanished completely IIRC. They probably were convinced that this was real or was gonna happen in the not so distant future for real and they gave up on TI calcs >.<

They should entertain people......
Last year I did as a april fools joke that one of my ball machines was cancled, some people fell for it but nobody hated me afterwards or unsubbed me or something.....

I remember the OS 2.71MP that was hilarious

Except I bricked my new calc installing the patch <_<, but I somehow got a refund and bought a new one.

Really? It might have been because of the random crashes which jumped to a different RAM area or something. Maybe it tried writing on the certificate or something. Or you applied the patch on an OS that was already patched with something else by mistake. In my case, all I got were RAM clears or such stuff.

The funny thing about OS 2.71MP is that I think the actual OS file is still available somewhere online. It was never deleted at the time; only the link to it was removed.
