To me it seems more like they're totally against calc programming. To me it's stupid because with calc programming you can get better at computer programming. With TI-BASIC you learn the programming concepts easily then learn to optimize like crazy due to limited language and platform, and with ASM you learn to code in low level where you have to mess with memory to do anything.
sorry this is a little random but,  what if your parents were made by TI, and then TI decided to restrict native asm?

Dropping by on my phone - I'm not going on vacation, I just won't have access to a computer until the end of the year.

Oh I meant christmas vacations.

At least I am glad you can actually post from your phone, though (unless that's gonna be taken away too? ??? )

I put calculator programming on my resume. During my first interview, the interviewer was very curious and asked a lot of questions about it. I believe it helped me land my job. :)
That's awesome Ranman! :D

On a side note, he just e-mailed me and Kerm that the dev release of KOS would be delayed to Feb 1st.

Since when did TI make robotic parents ???

On a more serious note, calcs are a great platform to begin programming on because of the simplicity of the hardware. It's a shame TI locked down the nspire, because z80 hardware is kinda old. Then again, it got hacked, so no harm done.

Okay, here's the basic idea:
While testing KOS on hardware, my calculator was incapable of doing math.  Duh.
My parent's didn't like this, and have told me that I cannot do anything on my calculator that I couldn't do when I first pulled it out of the box, and I'm not allowed to connect it to a computer.

Steal it back or something :/ thats what I did. Man your parents really must be that bad. If you wanna send me anything to keep safe, I would be more than happy to help

You know, now that I think about it, is there someone at your school that could help you test it?

Again? That really sucks... :(

If you don't mind me asking, why, though?

Yeah, I just keep the programming relatively quiet so nobody steals my calc.

Ok sorry for the random reply but I just wanted to say that I have made a NLP topic where we can discuss more about the techniques I offered earlier on. I know that this has little to do with the topic in its current context but since my post in this topic was so greatly appreacited I almost felt obligated to tell you.

Here:http://ourl.ca/8300/154045;topicseen#new

All you need to know Is Right There.

P.S.
Dj or any other staff member I'll be willing to remove this post if I break rules by doing this...It is just that I felt I needed to tell you all about this since it was so greatly appreaciated at the time.
MASM xxxxxxxxxx aborted | SADce ====:::::: 40% -Halted until further notice| XAOS =====::::: 50% -Units done| SKYBOX2D engine ========== 100% -Pre-alpha done. Need to  document it and extend |

I think it is fine as long as you don't hijack this topic too often. :P
