1-open the control panel
2- search for "folder options" and open it
3-change to the "view" tab
4- search for a option like "hide extensions for known file types" and unselect it
5- click "aply" and "ok"

now you can change the name of the image correcly

if you renamed the file you will be abble to transfer it... your file must be named with the two extensions ".jpg" and ".tns" and the extension ".tns" must be the last one on the name...
wright ---> "xxx.jpg.tns"
wrong---> "xxx.tns.jpg" or "xxx.jpg.tns.jpg" or another names

well, i'm not sure that i understood all that you said...
you have a JPEG file called "xxx.jpg", you rename the image to "xxx.jpg.tns" and send to your nspire using the student software...

1-open a folder on your nspire called "Linux"
2-go to this site: http://tiplanet.org/nspire-linux-builds/
3- download a kernel (you can chose between xconfig or expanded), the initdr (http://tiplanet.org/nspire-linux-builds/initrd.tns), the linuxloader and the script (http://tiplanet.org/nspire-linux-builds/start_initrd.ll2.tns )
 4-send this 4 files to your "Linux" folder
5-open your ndless.cfg.tns and add a line: ext.ll2=linuxloader2
6-run start_initrd.ll2.tns

ps.:the script is optional

On a side note, can one install a different version of Ndless with nLaunch? ???

yes, i've done it. Seeing your profile i see that you have the a cx and a non cx nspire, if you want to have nlaunch and this ndless you have to delete the ndless folder on the end of the 8th step on the tutorial http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=11019, after finish simply install the new ndless and the hidn... with the cx should be a similar process but i don't tried because i don't have one...

By the way, how do I run apps (for example, Portal Prelude) on the emu? I've been searching for it online but can't find it.

Well, you run your ti84+SE rom in the wabbitemu (a ti-84 pc emulator), then you send the apps to the emulated rom and them you save your new rom with the apps that you want and then you use that rom on the calcemu...

I wonder how exactly he connected that mouse. If it was as simple as plugging USB mouse in it. :P
That's basically what that thing is. Note the brand on the mouse, some stuffs.
And the driver seems to actually work with multiple devices at the same time, I had a mouse and keyboard working fine together ;D
me too :)

AlexisVieira, the best I can tell you is to read everything you can and learn enough to figure it out as you go along.
Ultimately, that's how great computer programmers are born in today's society.

LinksII/LynksII is a graphical version of Links that is my favorite lightweight browser.
ty. I'll try

EDIT:
You can download the most recent "stable" versions from these links:
Clickpad
Touchpad
CX

well, in my touchpad nspire, this new version doesn't work -.- only the previous version ( 215kb version)

No. You should connect the pendrive before using the bootloader.
Connecting to the computer would be the exact opposite.
well, i've allready tried this lots of times but the nspire answer is ever the same -.-
