News / Re: Cemetech Contest #13: "Games with Cats & Space"
« on: November 30, 2014, 09:10:22 pm »
By the way, if a project was already started before the contest, but all that has been showcased are graphics and a dynamic tile generator in some forum topics with no download available, then would such project be eligible for the contest? I had an idea in mind just now, but I already posted some graphics in the pixel art sub-forum here and I showed a video containing extra graphics to some people.

I've always treated it as engine code is usable. As long as it's a new game/project/not looking like something released before. Eg: An old engine can be reused as long as you add enough content that its not a copy paste job. So in this instance if you add enough to the tile map generator that its not just a tile map generator there shouldn't be any issues IMO. But don't quote me on that.

Hello Kaiser. I suggest you read up on BBCode
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode
Its a forum markup language. Another suggestion is instead of using the quick reply box at the bottom of the screen hit a reply button you will have access to a much fancier editor with a WYSIWYG mode.

Also please refrain from double posting. Thats posting twice in a thread with out others posting inbetween.

As for us being here we are. This is a forum people take time to reply. Its not a chat box ^^

Yeah i got busy it sucks :?

We are working on the transparency thing with issues. First we have to fix email which eeems is working on pretty regularly (he nags me about shit all the time) Once that is done we can give everyone the ability to subscribe to forums and subforums as well atm you can't! See I disabled it when we updated (and yes I did mention this when we updated because of the limit on the amount of emails we can send. You can currently ask for subscriptions to individual threads tho!

As for fourchan sorry keep that in spam legit/sfw or not :P that's my opinion tho, I would rather not have it in the main channel.

And of course the site will be maintained. And yes there is debate on hiring processes going on. But we currently have to iron some other..bugs? out. Permissions are still being wonky on the new SMF and until I get the solid I wont promote anyone to power.

Subforum requirments? Link to that convo/thread/what ever it was again please?

And as for SMF emergency patches. We are all subscribed to both the debain security lists. The Smf security list. And a few others regarding other tools/utilities we run on the site. We do care :P

(I just finished writing a post saying basically the same as this, but more info about my situation in TI-84 programs/apps, and when I posted it some error about my IP came up and I lost all I had written that took me at more than 10 minutes.  )
Next time that happens, copy down the code you're given and tell Eeems about it at http://ourl.ca/issue; he should be able to get you sorted out.
One of us admins will at the very least!

So to risk some flaming. We are talking internally on how to be more outward with things. We are bouncing some ideas around. That being said. We always answer when poked.
