Computer Usage and Setup Help / Re: Virus problem

did you already get it back? or is it still in repair?

and i only use AVG free too :) and i never got a virus in the last 2 years.. and the last one wasn't even a virus, it was just some malware that installed itself and blocked everything, but i got rid of that myself, so it wasn't really bad :)

another program: paint
as the name says, it's a very simple paint program that lets you draw on the screen using different pens/colors/sizes. does not feature a lot until noq, wince i can't check the color of pixels and i can't store them in an array (tooooo big for the arduino). if i can manage to store it somehow on the sd-card (like bmp format or something) that reads fast, then i can add effects, layers, fileters etc..

ok, a quick review:

pressing '.' throws an error
making the word 'it' and 'me' throws an error (probably all words with two letters, line 211: attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value)
i think you have to be too fast to make the words, maybe slow it down a little
after a couple of seconds you list of made words dissapears, but it does not return to the start or something, it just clears, which is kinda weird..

the timer is still at 1:30 :)

otherwise it's very nice :) i love it

Computer Projects and Ideas / Re: [Contest] IRC quizzer bot

yeah, that's true.. not a bad idea actually :)

I found a website (not with an api) that contains a lot of quizzes, maybe i could pick some of those, and have it combined with some user-added questions
this is the site (with an example of a java quiz)

hmm, i guess i'm first gonna find a quiz question site with an API, so that i could easily get questions and their right answers xp
i don't think adding will be possible, since then i would make a database, and i have not a single clue on how to start something like that :o

so the theme of the questions will probably be general knowledge, but programming questions would be more correct :) i'll take a look for those questions

Computer Projects and Ideas / [Contest] IRC quizzer bot
« on: August 05, 2012, 03:46:00 pm »
Hi

for the coding battle contest i'm gonna make an IRC bot that asks quiz questions once a day/hour or something (not sure of that yet, maybe every 8 hours to reach every time region).
everyone on the channel can participate, and the first one to answer the question will gain e.g. 10 points, and at the end of the month a final score will be calculated
the one with the most points wins of course.

i guess it can be fun, maybe not, we'll see :P

grtz

Anything you recognize ?

nah, not really.. i think he would have asked me if he would have used it (which would have been quite normal)

could anyone place an animated screenshot or video of it? i want to see it working xp

i'm wondering too xp

i love the bust-a-move :o i tried it in lua, but didn't manage to get the collision detection to work nicely..great you got it working :) it looks amazing
