Gaming Discussion / Re: A New Magazine For Nintendo Fans...
« on: August 27, 2012, 04:45:14 pm »
The Calculator section thought juju is about ports and fan games made by us.  SO it sort of is by nintendo.
And DJ_O even though it is made by Omni members, it is a nintendo mag so calc things wouldn't really be content for it, regardless of who made it.

The mag would be small.  20-30 pages maybe.  Or Bi-Monthly and a little longer.  We'd have to see who we get first.

Gaming Discussion / A New Magazine For Nintendo Fans...
« on: August 27, 2012, 12:46:10 pm »
Hey, as some of you may or may not know Nintendo Power will be concluding its publication with the December 2012 issue.
I have an idea...
We can create our own magazine based around Nintendo and new releases etc.
Now this of course wouldn't be a printed one, it would be distributed on the Google Play store and/or Zinio (a magazine distribution platform).

We need organization before we start.  We need to plan out content multiple months in advance or this will never last.  And I want it to.

Sections:
Upcoming Games
New Game Reviews
Classic Corner
Some kind of spot for our Nintendo fan games on our calculators, because after all this is Omnimaga... Plus it may attract new people to the world of calculator programming asm, basic, and axe.

Any ideas?  Anyone with me?

We need:
(x2) Artist  --
(x5) Writers --
Finance --

And other ideas for people we need?

Art / [REQUEST] Boot Animation for Android
« on: August 22, 2012, 03:21:53 pm »
I am currently patching together a ROM for Android full of tweaks and such that will be released for the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, Asus Eee Pad Transformer (tf101), And the Google Asus Nexus 7 (and maybe more).
I do need a boot animation.  I had an idea...

Black background, with a red flame (shaded of course) with a black XV in the middle of the flame.  The problem with this is I am terrible at computer art.  I know that some of you here are amazing.  So I was wondering if anyone could make one for me.

I would need the boot animation in the following formats (as of now):
(H*W)
1280x800
800x1280
854×480

Thanks for reading!

Wow.  It has been a LONG time since I posted here.  I actually got a renewed interest in this project and I started rewriting it from the ground up, KINDA.  I am using some code from the old version, but the tile mapper and movement engine will be completely overhauled using Output and the HOME screen instead of the pseudo ASCII Text Game it was before.
I hope to have a demo release of it out by Saturday, July 28th.  It will be compiled using Axe Fusion because it is only a demo release so you will need Axe installed.  The source will be included since it is an open sourced engine.
I hope you guys are still interested in this engine...  I hope to get more active in the community again, but it has been hard with work and well... Sleep.

Miscellaneous / Re: SliTaz Linux
« on: June 21, 2012, 10:24:05 pm »
As was said, drivers were my main problem.  Also the package manager was lacking.  I preferred managers like yum and apt.
I don't know it is also just a feeling I had.  Its just hard to explain.  Just one of those feelings that I just didn't like it.

As like Juju said.  Plus Arch has an amazing beginner's guide and amazing resources on installation and on pretty much EVERYTHING you want to do.

SliTaz is nice, but I prefer Arch.  It is complicated to set up and maintain.  SliTaz while lighter than Ubuntu is in my opinion TOO lite.  I mean it could be different and you might love it, but personally I didn't like it.
You could check out Bodhi Linux as well, which is based off of Arch with the very nice Enlightenment.   Ubuntu has gotten very bloated over the past few years (well I guess it is meant to be packed with programs for noobs).
SliTaz is OKAY but it is very lite.
Just my two cents.

Computer Projects and Ideas / xDooMLauncher
« on: May 12, 2012, 01:03:32 am »
NOTICE: THIS IS A SUPER EARLY VERSION (12 5 2012).  THERE ARE BUGS AND I KNOW.

xDooMLauncher
v0.1.5 (Build 20120512)

Downloads:
http://xvicario.us/xDL_20120512_v0.1.5.7z (6kb)
http://xvicario.us/xDL_20120512_v0.1.5.zip (8kb)

xDooMLauncher is a replacement for the horrid (in my opinion at least) ZDoomLauncher.
ZDoomLauncher is very cluttered and I decided to make one myself with a cleaner interface.

BUGS:
- I'm sure there are some, somewhere. I think I still have debugging code in there...

Sorry no screen shots tonight, but i promise tomorrow (maybe).

Oh. And this will only be of use to you if you have DooM, DooM II, Heretic, HeXen, Strife, Freedoom, TNT, Plutonia, Strife, or Hacx.

iwads go in the iwad folder (option to find them wherever is coming)
pwads go in the pwad folder (option to find them wherever is not coming, too messy)

If you have another IWAD that is not standard, you can add your own in iwad.txt in the root directory of the program.

You'll need a DooM Source port (http://zdoom.org) and an iWad (http://www.nongnu.org/freedoom/ for an open source DooM clone).

Ah I see what you mean (it has been quite a while lol). It isn't a bot, but a local script that is run in your and only your instance of X-Chat.  the only things that someone outside would see are the effects of the filters or greentext. (or the facepalm command)

Minecraft Discussion / XMDCraft -- A Minecraft Server
« on: April 20, 2012, 11:22:48 pm »
My cousin and I just started a Minecraft server that we call XMDCraft.  It is a laid back(-ish) server.  We do have rules like no griefing and stuff, but yeah.
To play on XMDCraft you first need to sign up at our website http://xmdcraft.com/ .  This will automatically whitelist your Minecraft username (you must put it in when you sign up).
Then when you log on you must take a quiz to change from Guest status to Builder status.
The Ranks (from high to low):
Admin (two brianmaurer42 (XVicarious) and jewfrogarrett148)
Mod
Trusted Builder
Builder
Guest

We have the following plugins installed (permissions are still being set up though):
WorldEdit
VoxelSniper
Essentials
GroupManager
MCBans
Craftbook (Mech)
BorderGuard
WorldGuard
iConomy
PhysicalShop
godPowers
LWC
Multiverse (full, all plugins)
StartersQuiz
Vault

Any questions ask here or email either [email protected] or [email protected] and one of us will get back to you!

Sadly it has made no progress lately.  My TI-84+SE has three rows of dead pixels (barable) and refuses to connect to the computer to transfer files, and my Nspire's 84 emulator crashes and resets when I try to edit the programs.
Until I can get a new TI-84+SE, I can no longer continue this project.  I'd love to see someone maybe pick this project up either temporarily or permanently, because it would be nice.  If someone does, just email me (my email should be in my profile) and ill find the newest source I have (Idk, it may be sort of corrupted which might be why it crashes my nspire) and send it to you.  IT would still have to be open sourced though because of why I started this project in the first place (to make making an RPG more accessible to people who aren't great at programming, but still make it difficult enough so too many shit games get released :P).

Update on my collection....
Canceled the V-Cube order.  The company is dickish.
I have a QJ Pyraminx now as well as two mirror blocks.
ShengShou 4x4 vIII and ShengShou 5x5
Professor Pyraminx (5 layered pyraminx)
2 ShengShou 6x6 in the mail (one black and used, the other White and new)
I modified a 3x3, so down to 13, but I ordered another 3.  A Mini Alpha, YJ 100mm Foot Cube, and an Alpha CC
Mozhi 2x2x1

I might have gotten more, but I don't remember exactly what I order lol.

News / Re: nDoom 2.1 adds PWAD support for thousands of games!!!
« on: February 04, 2012, 01:53:53 am »
The reason  some PWADs do not work is because of what they were made for.  Most PWADs after say 2000 were made for newer source ports like prboom and zDoom.  I am just assuming that nDoom is based off of the original DooM source code at iD's website.
prboom and zDoom improved upon DooM's WAD format and it's different kinds of chunks adding features that weren't in the original DooM engine.
If you really want support for these something like zDoom would have to be ported instead of DooM.  I would imagine that it wouldn't be that much harder than porting Doom, except that zDoom has modified the software renderer and added a hardware one, and those add some features to the DooM engine.
