6024: You find some truth to that but still wants to speak with Sorunome in German anyway.

Ya I'd personal agree with you on trying windows, but Linux is open to editing. He can do whatever he wants to it. AKA programmers dream, if you can figure out how to use it well and/or compensate for the lack of game releases on it. (But hey that's what Virtual Machines are for right?)

I can't help but feel that people don't care about a game that's not for computer testing or calc testing.
I'm just trying to get some feedback, it's more necessary than you think. 156

6022: You are learning German with your 40 year collage German teaching veteran grandmother so you can talk to Sorunome on the inter webs in German.

I feel like this topic is to come here and bash on each others like's on computer hardware.
![]() We are probably confusing the heck out of Sorunome. 158
Other Calculators / Re: Pong - ClrDraw« on: November 23, 2013, 07:44:00 pm »Dude the physics behind this game are deceitfully harder to accurate replicate than it seems. Good luck. Xii is barely scratching the surface.Yeah, I know ![]() I was planning to leave it like this, should I try making it more like real pong?Definitely work on the physics and make it like the real pong. That would be really impressive. 159

Hmm cool. I made something exactly like this before, anyway, are the angles of the ball bouncing off of certain objects random, calculated or are they just defined?
Right now it looks like ball will go from moving horizontally (diagonal) and then when the paddle hits it it just goes completely straight vertical again. If you want the ball's bouncing to be calculated then you can change the velocity of the ball based upon where it hits on the paddle. I believe in the original pong, they had it so the ball would go farther left or right depending on how far it was on the paddle. The wall bouncing looks good though. Also if you are going to make the ball change on where it hits the paddle, you might want to make it ADD the change to the current velocity or it will just instant change from hard right to hard left. (looks funny that way) 160
Gaming Discussion / Re: Xbox 180« on: November 22, 2013, 10:05:26 am »
I used to play my Xbox and my Xbox 360, but they were really overpriced when I got them. For the price of both of them I could have gotten a computer better than the one I have now. (and this one is overkill)
It doesn't matter how much Xbox and PS will have exclusive titles, because I know I can find everything else on steam. ![]() (Except for Destiny, So I'm keeping my 360) 161

For Linux you are probably right, I wouldn't know. I tried Ubuntu, couldn't figure out anything and then switched back to windows because I'm just way to lazy and I've had 16 years of experience with windows only (My dad works for Microsoft)

UPDATE:
Been doing even more spriting, and got some more terrain generation in. I also learned A* (Path finding) which was really fun, but unfortunately I will not implement into this game because it is a space game, thus no reason and/or not feasible. Here are some screenies. Spoiler For Spoiler: ...and... Spoiler For Spoiler: Right now asteroid fields and planets are currently generating around suns and nowhere else. I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions you have to give me. 165
Other / Re: Wanting to get a desktop« on: November 20, 2013, 01:04:49 am »So yeah, I want to get a desktop. Even If he has a heavy wallet right now, I would never go for Mac because they are very unreasonably priced for their hardware. Not only that but custom build is cheaper than any pre-built computer. Putting my hatred for Macs aside, I respectfully disagree with you entirely. Later in life If I have a ton of money that I have nothing to do with I might get a mac just to experiment with its OS because I have never used one. ![]() |
