Calculator C / Tool to Convert BMP into C array

Hi, does someone know a tool that converts .bmp files into a C array?
It really sucks to do this manually, especially at larger picutes :-\

EDIT: Just a small remark though, the end with the emu stuff might confuse some people just wanting to install Ndless on their Nspire...

Like I said, it was supposed to be a programming tutorial, so i thought it would be useful to explain the emulator.

Interesting, but for some reasons it freezes around the middle of the track ???
Hmm, I have no clue why this could happen ??? Does it freeze all the time you try it or did it freeze just once?

For all the newcomers, here is something I have recently been working on...
It was supposed to be a large ndless programming tutorial ;D but it's not finished and I don't have much time to work at it atm.
To the others, since I don't have much experience with ndless too, there might be a lot of errors in it... feel free to correct me, I will change it as soon as possible then :)

At least this is how I installed ndless... ;)

The *.tnc extension is actually "universal" between both of the Nspires.  The .tno extension is "exclusive" to the non-CAS only.
And that file is signed too? Why are the language files extracted then..  :-\

Actually I'm wondering why there is a TI-Nspire.tnc file on my non-CAS nspire.... (/phoenix/install) ???

Can someone explain please why the changes are permanent? I always thought the OS copied its files from ROM during boot up...
Yes, it copies the OS files into the RAM, but if you change the OS files that are located in the flash, they will be loaded into the RAM after a reboot. (Correct me if I am wrong)

So, here is the first graphical update:

- Ground texture replaced (Thanks to apcalc)
- Cloud texture replaced (still looks weird :-\)

I'm more curious about if this change is preserved when the Nspire reboots. If it's permanent (until OS re-install), then this is even more awesome (because I didn't know it was even possible to patch the OS files permanently, since it was loaded into RAM upon booting the calc then deleted afterward). O.O

If this is possible, then couldn't someone write patches that enables additional TI-BASIC commands through parser hooks such as Sprite()?
Yes, the changes are permanent ;D

And I remember files in other directories with function definitons... maybe it is possible to even replace those files with the CAS files on a non-CAS nspire... i will check that when i'm back home  ;)

No!  I just checked my Block Dude folder, and I seem to have lost all of the image files of the sprites used in Block Dude. :(

If you want, feel free to use the sprite from block dude (or edit it to your liking), but I doubt it will be much good with only the raw hex data (available in the source file).

EDIT:
Attached is a new brick sprite I quickly drew.  It is a bit better than that stone, but it could probably still use a little work! :)
Thanks, i think i will use either the blockdude brick or your attached one :)

You suck at sprites? Who made your avatar? Coolest Avatar of Omnimaga!
Lol thanks ;D but i didn't make it myself, it is from an "forum avatar website" or something :(

Your stone looks great, maybe i will use it for later projects, but what I really need now is a player sprite...

Shunledge

In this game you have 3 seconds time to memorize holes in the ground before it disappears in a cloud.
Then you have to reach the other side by jumping over these holes.

Controls:
Right/6 - Move forward
Up/8/Ctrl - Jump

The project page at nspforge can be found here.

I still need a new cloud sprite. If you want to create it for me look here.

Art / 16x16 textures request
« on: February 12, 2011, 03:08:31 pm »
Hi, because i suck at pixel art and i have seen alot of nice pictures here already, I would like to request some textures.

First of all, i need a 16x16 stone texture that can be repeated horizontally, and a cloud texture as well.
Also I would like to have a texture that is half stone and half cloud and a 32x16 player sprite.
I need all of them in 16 grayscales.

Thanks in advance :)

How does this work?
It overwrites the english language file with an edited one.
You can find the original file at /phoenix/syst/locales/en/strings.res in the Nspire's file system.
