that too it seemed to be at an odd angle. im sure you could easily get behind the screen to get a brighter backlight anyways... its usually not difficult with normal lcd screens.

good point, but even though the calc is smaller, i'd imagine since chips and such have gotten smaller yet more powerful, they didn't have to remove much. thats my guess.
And yeah, I don't think ti would advertise this color backlit screen if it was that dark. thatd just be dumb advertising.

hmmm the cx just seems to be in bad lighting... so with the ti 84 pocket model, is there any differences besides its look and screen? aka more programming functions, improved graphics, better rendering memory or RAM?

thats a good idea as long as it can be easily implemented. but again you dont wanna upset or deter good users at the same time. so the question is whats the best balance of getting people to read the rules and not hurting the experience of the website. again you dont wanna cram it down their throats, but get them wary and to understand the rules. you could implement a formal warning system, one warning, then suspension the prolonged suspension the you get kicked off of you violate that

If you do re-write or edit the rules DJ_O and need help with the French translations, I'd be happily obliged to. I think maybe shortening the rules that are self explanatory in a way and then being more specific on definitions on say trolling and such may make sense. And then put in big letters and colored font READ THESE!!!!!! or something haha.

that could work cause theyd have to actually post cause spamming and double posts are against the rules. the chances someone would post 50 times to just be annoying on the irc would probably be slim. its unfortunate though that something would have to be done esp to those who are good, honest people interested in calculators and programming. its too bad cause this is a good site

I have a feeling the new cx and the nspire news has trigggered more users. I mean i feel a little worried being a new user but with postings of the cx and i guess the prizm and major tech sites like engadget posting about this new calc stuff; its led to an influx of visitors googling nspire and calc stuff (such as ndoom). hopefully people will stop abusing it, i found this site very positive, supportive and helpful.

well with programming its either you have quicker programs but longer code or slower but easier to code programs but slower (little ironic in a way huh?). but i mean assembly definitely gives you more flexibility and if you are good with it and almost productive as a person in say c good for you! i on the other hand have to program in c i dabble in assembly but i dont have the patience. so i respect that and that sort of work and dedication.

this looks awesome! but will it have the rendering memory to do this, or even part of this? i mean at a certain point itd seem to be too much just graphics wise.... how do you plan to combat that?

yes that is true but again the education system isnt that great (at least in public schools) in america. i mean yes compared to some countries but still we are behind internationally. most "teaching methods" are lectures/ worksheets at home a test and quiz here and there. so yes id so most things are above conventional teaching methods.
