I used to tutor high school math, physics, and chemistry for about 3 years during the end of high school and after it. Most people I tutored, I tutored somewhat regularly, but there were also people like you said that only called me before exams. Its generally the concerned parents, not the students, that want to have regular tutoring.
It's actually a great way of making money IMO.

Rare? not really. You can by the 84+ pad for $10 on ti's site, and get an nspire on ebay for ~$80

Update!
You find the Sprite editor by clicking on the logo in the first post.
- Shifting the sprite up, down, left and right (Up and down are not done yet)
- Editing the current Hex / Bin Code
- Frame System
---- Adding and Deleting frames
---- Switching to the next / Previous frame
---- Jumping to the first / last frame
---- Jumping to a specific frame
- Clearing sprites
- New hover effects
- Layout improvements
And sorry, but I won't include a way to export the sprites as TI progs,
unless someone has a routine to convert code into 8xp using PHP or JS.

Did anyone else (that's still active in calcs that is ) get this concept to work? I've looked around and as of yet I'm not really seeing anything...

Looks nice Deep THought! I'm glad this is alive again. 
I agree about the character being hard to see over gray background, though. It should probably have an outline or change color depending of the background.
Did you try to play it? It's much harder when playing it rather than watching IMO. But as I've said, I think that's part of the fun: "WHERE AM I?  "

In the last update, I made ReCode start at 6MHz with the idea that it will run at the same speed on all calcs, initially. The user can then use Full if they need to. Also, a few commands are executed at 6MHz even in 15MHz mode for timing purposes or simply to save power as that was a concern

I compiled a new version of this game with Axe Parser 0.5.1 ( the last was made with 0.4.5 IIRC )
Note that the new dispgraph routine does not work in full speed mode on bad LCDs.
Will you upload that version?

Ah ok. I think at elementary school there was a tutor, actually. Sometimes students had to go see her a few times per week to get extra help they couldn't get in class.
Did they have to pay for such tutor? :S

I'm very busy IRL at the moment, because if I don't have good notes, I have to repeat this school year, and I dont feel like wanting that 
So updates might go very, very slow.
