I was thinking more along the lines of making the character white with a black outline. It would be only a single more sprite per frame, it shouldn't slow down the game too significantly, and I think it would help with visibility tenfold. As for bullets however, drawing twice as many sprites for each bullet seems very excessive... maybe use Rectangles? For a rectangle of 3x3 with a white center, it draws faster than a single sprite would. It would have black edges no matter what, and a white center no matter what, so it would show up in all scenarios and be faster than a sprite (if a sprite is what you are using right now )
I actually prefer backgrounds to be in gray and characters and bullets in black or darker gray, which is what happens in Contra. But that's just me, I think.

A good point that Scout made is that a gCn MNORPG doesn't seem very possible. A community project needs to be something that can only be done feasibly as a team, and have a large user base.
I had an idea for a project: a fileshare system over CALCnet. Basically, calcs would connect, say which files they are willing to send, and then calcs can pull the files off the other calcs for themselves.
That seems VERY feasible and very useful, imagine downloading files as in ticalc.org, but in your calc! I think it's definetely more possible than a MMORPG.

Well, goal not Met I only made around 40 new ones.
But, however, made it up by making tons of enemy and NPC sprites
Don't be sad, I'm sure there's enough time.

To be honest the site isn't as bad as I expected, but that might be because I expected something like this...
Unfortunately, no offense to older people, but in general the ones who are illiterate about technology tends to be narrow-minded/stubborn about it, and no matter how hard you try to explain them some concepts of web design, they'll absolutely want the site to be the way they want. If that's the case, I wish you good luck helping them.
Hopefully things goes well.
wow...Good luck ZippyDee!

@Builderboy: It doesn't say it's just windows, but if you check Omniaga>Home, it says "TI Calculator Projects" and then "Windows\n-Nightmare". The scariest part was when the flashlight fell and I had to catch it and I was not sure if I had to catch it, but the X Ray part is pretty scary as well. Looking forward for a XBox version of it (not to play though, I don't have one ) EDIT: I got to the part where it said 'Alert: To be continued', is it really the end of demo?

I tried the original game, and yeah we can\'t go back, and I had the same experience as Builderboy, finding me and my enemies is hard, but I guess that\'s part of the fun? Guess you could think of it like that
There's always a positive side on problems, right?

Yeah, I managed to get a score of 38 on an actual calc, though 15MHz is rather difficult. Also, I tried adding a Pause 1 in the loop and it made the controls a bit easier. EDIT: a byte easier
Have you thought of adding a Shade( or a Line(0,96,0,64,1 command to turn the screen black randomly at times (frequence rises with time) to spice up things a little bit? I made that in Blockeat, but it's not the kind of game for it, whereas Balltrix is.

Oh, I made Blockeat before I had a lot of the commands, so it can probably be optimised, now! I will have to look at the code later to figure out where everything is
I found out where everything was, and made lots of changes, I now have my customized BLOCKEAT

Despite that rather demotivating speech, I just want to say be careful and I can't wait to see everything this group pumps out, and what ideas you come up with! I know you guys can come up with some awesome stuff when you put your heads together! ^^
Seconded, I'm not participating in this, but wish you good luck.

You can have programs any size you want as long as they fit into RAM, and as long as the amount of executable code doesn't go past 8800 bytes.
Yeah, hence I said it was an App, >8800 bytes

I just tried Nightmare (not for the first time, I had tried it before, but it was *very* different from now).
How amazing is this? This is just fantastic, awesome, no words to describe it. For a few moments I was really, *really* scared (I know that's the point).
I'd love it if this game was more famous.
I have a suggestion: Change cursor in game, the Windows mouse looks bad on it.
Which reminds me, is it just Windows? Cos in Omnimaga's homepage it says so, but Java is cross-platform.

I actually like this idea (of a community project), I also like the idea of a MMORPG over gCn. It seems a good idea, but in my view, too hard to finish as a group project, if you think about it, well, it's just too hard. Another thing though is it requires that all players have that special link or an arduino.
So I recommend a community project, but not over gCn.
