I'm trying to immediately show people how you can apply it to real life. I believe that is a wonderful way to show real life scenarios. If you want to look at it I will temporarily post a copy of my nearly completed first chapter. I am just working on examples and checking for errors. here and PM you the password to it. You will need Microsoft Office 2010 to open it though.

I believe you should 'Export to PDF' it, but still nice ;D

Humour and Jokes / Google Translate Easter Egg
« on: February 26, 2011, 06:56:35 am »
I just found an awesome easter egg in Google Translate:

1. Open Google Translate here;
2. Change it to German-Turkish;
3. Now write ä 15 times (äääääääääääääää);

See what appears ;D

For me it won't load too slowly, but pages loads slightly slower than in FF, Chrome and Opera.

I use Chrome all the way, but FF has more extensions.

I agree with Builderboy, but web design is such a major pain X.x. I am sure some Omni stuff would look different in other browsers than Opera/Firefox. But I don't know HTML/CSS enough to know X.x

In some cases, people give up on IE: They only make sure in IE it works, without worrying about showing fine.

I change my CSS a little bit for IE, but not a lot, I hate testing things on IE due to its loading time :P

Which reminded me to check, it works great, the button is not the same size, though.

The problem is that a number shows up the corner (10) :S

thats true, but I think making the best effort to appeal to all your users is also a good idea :)

Which is what I always do: Browser compatibility ;D

I see what you did there ;D

This is the right forum.

I also have to note that it looks cool, but I never learnt variables in school, at least not like you talk about them. But you're the one who's right, I'm sure.

:):):):)!!!!!!
Directory searching is done! Preprocessor commands are implemented! It even can be compiled with VC++ (which doesn't have dirent.h, so I use the WinAPI instead) and with the GCC (using dirent.h).
Also, the version compiled with VC++ is about 74k while the version compiled with the GCC is 541k.
Anyone know why?

I googled a bit and have no idea about it, but in that case I'd use VC++, what's to blame little size?

Site Feedback and Questions / Re: I think we need a better search engine.
« on: February 26, 2011, 02:23:28 am »
Just now, I was looking for the TNOC thread. I typed "tnoc" into the search box and nothing came up ??? Maybe we could use google custom search or something.

I actually find the current one quite good, the 'Revise Search' can help sometimes, but changing to a better one would always be good.

I run Windows 7 64 Bit and used Opera 11. However in Opera 11 I use Opera Classic theme (that looks like Opera 8 and 9). Could it have something to do with that?

No idea, but it doesn't really matter, there's no way I can make it equal for *everyone*.

Computer Programming / Re: Java Swing Doubt
« on: February 26, 2011, 02:20:02 am »
Yeah, and I would be careful with just using .add(.  In fact, what I do is create what I want in netbeans and study the code for it.

Also, Builderboy, you have +256 respect (2^8), and are 17 posts away from 4096 (2^12)

I do hate add(, so in the tiny program I just made (Catalan Number GUI) I decided to use the NetBeans IDE, but the designer is quite bad when compared to Visual Studio's or Sharp Develop's. Sometimes the window resizes itself, and it won't let me make what I want.

I know I'm abusing this Catalan Number thing, but it's great to learn new things about languages, so I made it Java GUI using Awt and Swing.
