Miscellaneous / Harry potter light up wand.
« on: November 21, 2011, 08:03:14 pm »
After much frustration, I successfully made a harry potter wand that lights up!
I know it sounds easy, but when you are that cramped in space, also limited to size of internal hole for structural reasons, it is very difficult.
I had no real way to get my wires to connect to batteries, so for one side i used force and the other a magnet.  (is magnet + battery bad?)

So here is the vid :D  :hyper:  :hyper:  :hyper:   :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:  :w00t:

Axe / Re: Multiplayer in Axe?
« on: November 17, 2011, 04:54:49 pm »
yes multiplayer is possible.
and amazingly easy and fun.

I think last release was a dud, but one before that should work.

You should know however, 2 player games do not work with the 83+, Nspire 84 emu, and 7 foot cable.
If you need any help with making a two player game, just call on me.
Don't forget to make your send commands have if statments combined.

So something like....
if getkey(3)
If send(3,60000)
X+1->1
end
end

or else you will get out of sync.

I think there is a slight difference in hardware.
And welcome.

Nope.  Supper busy with my life right now.
Other than homework, I have an eagle project and...
I am in love with a girl, and dating another...  I didn't even ask her out.  She basically told me "i am your gf now".....  And i don't really like her, but i don't want to hurt her at all.
So ya, I will try to get back into this, but there seems no chance at rotation as some pixels become lost, and when expanded as they are... just doesn't look right.

Edit:  Single :D

lol.  I have 4, 83's like that right next to me.
That can be caused by many different things unfortunately, so diagnosis is hard.

I don't know very much about how the hardware works, but i have fixed several like this, although a couple have reverted back to this quickly.
So here is what you might try...

1.  Remove all batteries, including backup battery.  replace the AAA's and hold down del on the 4th one.
This has fixed a couple.  (you may put in backup battery again now.)
2.  Check the warranty.   They last quite a while.   just don't say anything about spilling anything or dropping.

voids warranty...
3.   carefully remove all screws in your calc.  4 of the back screws can be removed with a standard hex screwdriver, but the bottom 2 require a triwing, as almost no hex's are that narrow and long.
Carefully take your calc apart :P.  You should see a big metal sheet.  Just speculation, but i think that is for ground.  Clean it and put calc back together.  Do not put screws in yet, unless it works.
So great that might not have worked...  now take it back apart and look at the screen.  'http://xkcd.com/768/'
look at the tape.  if there are any big folds in it, try to flatten them out, but don't break it.  Also get a couple of q tips and water and clean those connections.  but only a very little water.
     Put back together and pray.

Too lazy to read everything posted here but...

Axe is great.  There are little to no cons in it, as it provides what the people that use it need.  If they want to learn something deeper, then they can, but i see no reason to learn asm just to never use it again.  some use it, but there is no reason to make it seem required.

I think the biggest problem is ti.
Once they work out all the computer connection problems, i will be happy :P
