Miscellaneous / Re: What did you get for X-Mas?

Got loads of CDs, DVDs, clothes, a CD/radio/iPod player, an old-fashioned alarm clock with a loud bell (referring to the fact I often have to wake up at 6AM), some books and some board games.

One of the CDs contains a rickroll. :P

I think it's fixed in 1.1, I heard leaf decay gave Notch hard times...

I didn't got a lot of FPS drops other than general PC lag since Beta 1.1. Seems everything is fixed now.

I tried to invite someone once, he have a TI-83+ since nearly as long as DJ, but he wasn't really interested in advanced calc programming and going on forums... (Advanced as in more than yet another quadratic solver or something like that :P)

1166. The first thing you do after unwrapping all your Christmas presents is to listen to the 7th track of that cover CD of The Lost Fingers, which is Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley...

I seriously did that lol :P

1157. You already know that 1158 will be unrelated to 1157 and will be about The Game.

Yep, I think there are no discussion boards on pages, only for groups or something like that...

And anyway, I don't really care about these discussion boards, as they are well hidden in the interface. The average people will only click that Like button, then comment on whatever you posted on your wall, maybe even post little messages. IMHO, the real board is more suited for serious business while Facebook is more intended for posting links like, "hey come on Omnimaga we did this, this happened" and things like that, like whatever you normally post on Facebook, and for promotion ("<insert your name here> likes Omnimaga"). Still, would be fun to see what happens on Omni on Facebook.

1148. You repeatly poke staff until they makes such page.

Seriously, it's not a bad idea, Omnimaga updates directly in your Facebook wall, that could be nice.

I think you really deserve this pause from the manager position, this will be good for you. Happy Christmas and have fun!

Clever use of giant buildings to make me lose The Game.

Also you can press F1+F2 to take screenshots (F1 removes the HUD) and F11 to go in fullscreen.

You can place blocks besides? I tried and nothing would happen...
Well yeah, but it's kinda touchy when you are making a floating platform.
Wow rcfreak and juju :D epic stuff :) I need to buy a copy so I can play online with you guys sometime
Do it now before it goes to beta tomorrow! :P

I think it needs at least 1GB to minimally run, anything below isn't a really good idea... At least 2GB shouldn't be a problem, I think. Also it's a good idea to have a swap partition (pagefile.sys under Windows) in case Minecraft takes up your entire RAM and locks up your computer.

Most of the time, when you die, all your stuff are dropped around so if you return to the place where you died you're usually able to retrieve all your stuff. Getting there is sometimes long, so warps or getting transported by the admin helps. A map can help too, here's mine: Map of my world (note: the player markers doesn't actually work...)

Also, good idea to gather everyone on the same server at the same time. Mine can handle easily 5-6 people, haven't tested for more...

Also, screenshot. :P Took easily 1 hour to build this in obsidian, that thing takes 15 seconds to remove if I make a mistake.

(Oh lol, ninja'd...)
Not all the time. I remember dying and my stuff was all gone. Also that Omni logo is epic ;D
That's why I said "usually"... And yeah that logo is epic indeed, thanks :P
One thing I wonder is how you guys build huge floating platforms? Because to me it seems like you have to make towers of like 30-40 blocks one by one then build on top of them, the remove the stuff below, but I can't seem to understand how you do it in large scale. Also how do you get torches, woodplates, money and that stuff?
Well you make a tower, build the floor by placing blocks besides (and not on top) the already existing blocks. For the torches, woodplates and the such, you have to craft them. For money, it's a /money command you have to type in the chat.
