It's interesting how an ad can easily destroy the reputation of a website.

the game
...

Can we buy [...]??
I am curious about that too. I personally am not much into board games, though. Is it available in most stores like Renaut-Bray?
Well, since it's a Junior Achievement company, we had to close it at the end of the year, the 250 copies we made were sold to the four ends of the province of Québec, but I always had the idea to restart it sometime and making a 2nd edition...

Computer Usage and Setup Help / Re: How to Use Mono
« on: December 18, 2010, 05:14:34 pm »
Depends what OS you have and what executable you have.

Generally, you have to install the complete installation of Mono, it should give an executable called mono, you only have to run it with that executable, in command line with Terminal or something like that you have to type "mono yourprogram.exe", in GUI, you just have to double-click your visual Basic application and run it with mono.

It's always a good idea to start it in command line so you can see what's going on if it fails.

Gaming Discussion / Got an award for a game
« on: December 18, 2010, 12:40:21 am »
This thread is not about a calc game or a computer game, but rather about a board game.

Back in 2007, me and some friends started a Junior Achievement company named "Les Jeux Enjeux", we started with a nice little idea for a board game about environment and the such. So we produced this game from A to Z and sold it everywhere. Rapidly, this game got some fame, eventually getting recognized on provincial TV and even provincial instances.

So today (or yesterday, it's confusing when it's 12AM...) we got this award, it took so long to get it, but we got it: The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Company of the Year Award 2007-2008.

That is, the highest recognition a Junior Achievement company could get (and I don't know how much of such companies there is in Canada, but I bet there is a lot), comes with a certificate and a congratulations/apologize letter from the president of Junior Achievement Canada. I'm so happy. Also it's fun to meet people I didn't saw since 2½ years...

1129. You treat and talk about everything in life as if it were a programming project. (Think: debug, code, commit, etc.)
1132. Everything you see have a programming reference in it.
1133. You are also convinced that everything in programming has a sexual reference in it. (Really, found lots of them in French. Dunno about English though...)

1119. And in octal.
1120. And in every single base from 2 to 9001.
1121. You even figured out how to do that in base 0 and 1.
1122. Even in negative, non-integer and imaginary bases such as base phi, base pi and base i.

tiDE / Re: tiDE

Thank goodness for juju2143, who has started localizing tiDE into French, in such a manner that I would never be able to figure out myself.
Localizing is so easy with Visual Studio, you only have to set a variable on your form to True, then choose your language, then change the text. But you have to know it, it's kinda well hidden, but once you see it you can't unsee it.

1094: You watch the Rickroll video on mute and you still hear the music.
1095: You also hear voices saying "The Game".
1096: Stare at the center of this picture for 30 seconds. Now look on the nearby wall. You should see a lobster.

1097: You seen Rick Astley instead.
