Hm, I've actually been working on my own VVVVVV clone, but I've put it on hold for a long time. I'd love to see how yours turns out, though.

Yes, I hope to eventually get back to this when I have time. Unfortunately, I may not have time until late March or early April.

I'm actually quite excited for this calculator, but I'm still wondering how practical interlacing will be for upping the screen refresh speeds.

Instead of drawing the sprites then using a DrawInv, you can now use Pt-And directly to draw white sprites.

It'd be even easier on Android, because it has root-level file access (not just pictures). Just use the original ROM, no need for JPEG conversion.

I feel like the startmenu/taskbar is a bad idea, and the more I use Android I really prefer it over iOS. Of course, you can use the Cydia tweaks squidgetx mentioned to unlock those features (although some do cost money, I know Infinifolders definitely does)

Any chance of my projects getting some love in the banner? :)

Shameless self-promotion aside, if you guys need any photoshopping help I'm pretty decent.

I'd like to see a topic before I register - are there any plans for releasing that information?

I sure hope you know what you're getting yourself into. Keep in mind that we generally discourage hype posts, but if you can pull this off I'd certainly like to see it.

Personally, I think the digging speed is fine. In the actual game, digging takes nigh-on forever, so this is a nice little reminder that we can't get what we want all the time ^^

I think what really needs improvement, however, is the digging/disappearing blocks thing - I don't know how the CX works, but is it possible to have an animation instead where the block slowly disappears from the top down or left/right or whatever?

I think it might be better if the text for subscribe, etc. is smaller so it all fits on the screen at once. IIRC, you can make youtube link to those places respectively.

Nice work, and great use of rayfire (is that rayfire? :P )

I've mostly caught up with all my schoolwork, so I'll start working on the intro pretty soon. In the meantime, feel free to use either of the intros presented thus far.

TI-BASIC / Re: pretty up disp output
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:12:54 pm »
You could always try repeatedly dividing by pi, keeping track of how many times you've done it, and when you finally get a rational value, use the graphscreen trick to make that value into a string. From there, it's as simple as concatenating a "pi^" and the number to the end of the string.

EDIT: From my experience, making the output prettier is almost never worth it in BASIC. You're better off just displaying the value and making the users figure out how many pis are in it, the lazy sots.

I feel that the first chapter got cluttered up way too quickly; maybe that's something you might want to consider for the next few chapters? (Specifically, all the keys next to each other and the really tight spacing made it feel that way)
