does anyone know how to disable Framebuffer in the BIOS? It's causing Kernel Panics in Ubuntu and BSOD's in XP.

Or, does anyone know how to disable them on the individual OS'es?

APPIAN GRAPHICS JERONIMO PRO QUAD 4 PORT VIDEO CARD

Well, I think that 8 monitors is a real possibility ATM.(that is, if I don't pop a breaker.)

Yea, every motherboard I have EVER seen has an IDE controller, and if it is recent(past year) it will most likely have a SATA controller. that large 4-pin cable would be your PATA/ATA cable, and that smaller one(8 pins, one flat side, clicks into mobo) would be your SATA controller.

PATA gets 1GB(not sure, correct me if Im wrong) per second data rate, and SATA can get 1.5GB/S or 3 GB/s.

If you have a nice mobo, you can usually set a RAID up for the drives(I can on mine, if I got 6 1TB drives, I could set a 6TB array up, easily.)

I would stay wtih XP.

my nebighor has a Vista computer I was allowed to get onto, it's specs are roughly equal to mine, and it was noticabally slower. If you like the Vista look, I reccomend XPize( http://www.xpize.net/ ). I have it on this computer and made a special XP install CD that installs it. I personally like it. It doesn't seem to lag my computer down at full visualizations, either.

Im on XP SP2.

No. :(sad.gif I can't seem to get past the "This device cannot start(error:10)" errors. I think my PCI bus is too s***ty to run it.

I do have 2 of the cards going though(one AGP and one PCI) so I have 3 monitors(dualhead AGP card)

Computer Usage and Setup Help / MOBO Switching???

I have a new motherboard I am going to replace my old one with(For the time being), but I was just wondering if I replace it, does Windows install drivers that are mobo specific(not like sound or video drivers, but drivers are just for the mobo?)

I have almost everything non-integrated except for my sound.
