Edit: You forgot about the gpu too, the 5770 is a dying gpu...in fact, the 5000 series is totally fading out just like the gtx 200s...For newer games such as skyrim and bf3, you need to have greater than (or equal to) a gtx 460 1gb or a 6850
The 5770 should be able to run skyrim no problem at full. BF3, though, would require you to run at low graphics settings, but it should still be playable. Yes, the 5000 series is dated and dying, but that doesn't mean it's completely incapable of running modern games.
(Offtopic: I just bought a 5870 off of one of my friends yesterday.)

Case: CoolerMaster makes top of the line cases. I have the HAF 932, and I know people who have the one you're looking at, they're happy with it.

RAM: Looks good. With RAM being so cheap, though, why not go for 8GB?
PSU: I have that PSU, I haven't had any issues with it. One of my friends swears that OCZ is the devil, though.

Mobo: No USB 3, only two PCI-E slots. That may limit future upgradability, I'd definitely get one with at least USB 3.
HDD: Looks like a good HDD. I know you said no SSD, but the performance gain from a good SSD to put your OS on is amazing, you may want to consider it.
OS: I'd go for Win 7 Home Premium or Professional, x64 obviously.

I dunno, but once in a while it stops refreshing and I have to reload the page. I guess the AJAX requests stopped working before all the messages gets loaded for some reason and you have to reload. I think it happens a lot when my internets decides to derp and stop functioning correctly.
If it's your internet cutting out that's a mechanism I put in there to keep a bug from happening that was DoSing my server.

I played through Skyrim on a 240m at medium-low settings just fine, a high-end 5000 series (As in > 5670) series should be able to handle it quite well (60fps on max settings at 1920x1080)

A 3.0 GHz processor isn't weak at all - my fastest computer here has a 1.6 GHz w/ ~2Gb RAM, and while it's not that fastest, I only ever notice it when I'm playing Minecraft. If you purchase everything detailed in your first post, as far as I can see, you can't go wrong.
GHz really has no impact on speed anymore. The number of cores coupled with the efficiency of the memory/instruction pipeline is where we're seeing the most increase these days. The i5 2500k pretty much beats all of AMD's current offerings hands-down. I'd definitely say the extra $20 is worth it. I personally think this is the wrong way to go. Members cannot be "slapped on the wrist" anymore for saying something they probably shouldn't have, and in the mind of the poster, there is less reprisal for saying potentially insulting or disrespectful posts. It's not going to ease hard feeling, but more increase them as now, a major part of the control factor on those kinds of posts is now gone. Also, all a regular member can do now is report a post or respond to it. With the downvote, a member could just rate down, feel better and then walk away. Now, they'd have to report the post or respond to (and feed) the troll which would potentially leave dissatisfaction, and thus, more drama. Ultimately, the downvote system was an important control on disrespectful and trolling posts and now that it's removed, the only true formal punishment that can be given is either a ban or suspension. And only a moderator or admin can do that, and the regular member can only point out the posts, but can't do anything directly to them. It's only going to increase drama and unresolved issues. That, I already foresee.
I also want to bring up the fact that, while you guys are the managers of the website, this came entirely out of the blue and was made without any sort of discussion on it by the community as a whole. (Or at least none that I have seen) I think that for major site changes like this one, the community should be notified and allowed to offer their own opinions and suggestions, because what if it's something the managers think is a good idea, but the community by and large is against? Also, you are also cutting out a lot of other valid outside opinions on the matter. Basically, I think there should have been a news poll thread suggesting the idea before it was agreed upon and implemented.
There's been extensive discussion on the matter, a large part of which has been public on the forums in various threads (mainly the ones where members 'rage', so to speak, about being downvoted). While there hasn't been much drama due to it recently, historically it's been rather problematic. As far as the community at large being against it, as far as I can recall, you're the only person to really speak out against it, with most others being neutral or for it.

I think it's more like -2459. Note that the IDs aren't in chronological order in the Minus world.
But I think they mostly are though. Just that some are deleted, and don't exist.
ie. they follow a general trend of some sort.

If you're trying to backup Gamecube games on a Wii, you could just use a Gamecube save card on the Wii

Ah ok, I was wondering what was the progress actually, such as if it seemed to work out well or if problems occured.
Also since you are merging, are you gonna allow people to set their theme settings to v5 retro? (I think v5 Retro should be the name)
I had no problems on a test site. I can let people set their theme settings, sure.
