well, we could just create our own app, the only problem being that the catalog hooks are not well-documented.

It'd also have a pretty effective on-calc documentation if the help section had a Symbolic-style guide, but just with syntax.

Keep in mind that adding too many hooks might conflict with certain shells, though. I think KermMartian is planning to keep DCS7 compatible with Axe, but it is still something to think about, especially when using too many.
