[TI-BASIC] BASIC Calc crash?
« on: January 07, 2006, 07:02:00 pm »
Ok, so I was testing my new Graphical Alt. Base prog (in BASIC mind you), and I hit on for break, and it went to the ERR:BREAK screen, but then it went  almost a deep purple color.  In the last line of pixles, som random dots started appearing, then it flashed and reloaded this total black/purple screen.  It wouldn't respond, so a yanked a battery, and when I turned it back on, it had two Done's displayed.

Anyone else have this happen?

Weird, sometimes the OS crashes quite spectacularly... one time I was in the equation editor, and suddenly cascades of random text started to run extremely quickly down the screen. My, that was entertaining!

lol, I was testing magic on my aod2 game, and I guess I forgot to finish the equation for it, and lines started appearing and disappearing, and then ram cleared...

2 of the best crashed ever...

1, I was working on metroid and my 83 turned off, when I turnd it back on the screen was a deep purple for about a min (I knew it was gone anyways) then it started to GO THROUGH THE MENUS AND PUT TEXT ON THE SCREEN! then it turned off and the keyboard lost all function :(sad.gif

2, while playing around with my 83+SE th processor failed and now some buttons do fun things, like if you press [GRAPH] it'll turn the screen blue and then the LCD starts to crack, if you go into the progam editor you get code EXTREMELY similar to the matrix :o

As long as it doesn't do prement damage it's ok :Pblah.gif, but I have had that happen before. One thing that I hate is when I group files after a while some of them go bad and then they have like small file sizes and if you delete them it ram clears.

I made a game about an assassin once, and after finishing the battle system I went to test the final game. The battle started and the screen went blue in places it shouldn't have.

I never knew groups could go bad, but a have a long history with the Y= editor :)smile.gif
One of these days I'll get a sig I'm really proud of.

I had something like that too...
But only after restoring my calc from a backup file...
then, sometimes the Groups are uber-big (about 130k) and could never really fit on my 83+... when I try to delete them my MEM gets resetted, then the calc turns off and when I turn it back on, it says sth. like "plesae install an OS file" >Dgni.gif

It's fun to randomly graph Y=randInt(-54125+10,10. Setting to thick line graphing makes it look like a heartbeat monitor. :)smile.gif

hehehe, i was using my math teachers calc's during mathclass just entering 0's and 1's on the homescreen during class. After about 15 min, i pressed clear waiting for an effect like the matrix, but got a ramclear instead, kinda weird dont'cha think?
