TI Basic Programming Tutorials
« on: November 08, 2008, 11:12:57 pm »
Well, I haven't seen any good tutorials out there, so I decided to start making my own.

Unfortunately, I say things before I think so I have a lot of 'um...'s in there but I get my points across.

Anyway, right now, I'm covering the basics. (making more videos all tonight)
Though, I'll be off of that and into game making asap.

I'm not sure anything will help the members here, but hopefully... my tutorials can be given to friends and such to teach them.

Feel free to give criticism and ideas.
Also, I'll be linking the videos to Omnimaga.org so maybe we'll get new members.

Anyway, without further ado... my voice!

I haven't seen any (decent) video tutorials before so these should be a good way to reach more people ;D

I'm not sure if you mean "good tutorials" in general or just video, but TI-BASIC Developer is an extensive Wiki with tutorials and documentation for TI-Basic (and a bit of assembly)

I meant good videos. =P

Though, yeah, there are plenty of amazing tutorials otherwise.

Some people are more visual though.
...
I do wish I could explain things a bit better though. >_<

Amazing, I never seen any good ones on Youtube. On youtube most tutorials teaches how to graph or do very simple stuff in BASIC. Text based, the best one would be TI-BASIC Wiki at Wikidot, since it's updated regulary, then second would be TI-Freakware tutorial lists (mainly the unfinished TIfreak8x one, which is alerady pretty good for those who want to make games as it teaches tilemaps and such and third there would be BASIC Guru website at http://bgo.netfirms.com . Kerm Martian tutorial at http://www.tifreakware.net is another good one. The rest are all on this website.

I wish you good luck on these tutorial, it will be helpful since it will reach a lot more people on Youtube.

EDIT: Now I know what your initials means :P.

Haha, never pay attention to my title screen for Nyaar, did  ya?

Thanks, I'll be starting the actual game tutorials today.
Got the basics done last night. (might be able to tell how tired I was)

Oh, and I'll start adding my music to the background for fun. =D

Hopefully, I can at least get ONE off though.

Thanks. =D
All the basics are done. (though I'm re-uploading them now due to a high-pitched whine in the background due to audio compression... >_<)
The first game tutorial is done and I added a quick video of my game, Nyaar, as it is now.

So... comments? ^_^

Yes. Apparently, we're the same age and our voice is similar, and we both are working on our respective xLib RPGs. Yep, this is a total coincidence. How many years of experience do you have?

I was a web designer back then.
HTML, CSS, Javascript, and a little PHP.

Though... I don't do that much anymore.
I'm all TI, VB6, and music making now. (FL Studio for that last one)
