Mouse choice
« on: December 09, 2011, 07:34:07 pm »
I'm having some issues on choosing a new mouse for my pc.. i want to buy a new mouse, but i don't really know wich one. i had a look on the microsoft touch mouse ( http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/products/touch-mouse/microsite/ ), but does anyone have some experience with it? because i read reviews that were totally good, but also that were totally bad..

or do you have an idea/suggestion for another mouse (doesn't have to be touch) below €80?

thanks for all :)
Nick

Yes you can, it comes with the BootCamp drivers. I guess it comes separately too.

I asked Juju how long did batteries last in that kind of mouse while he was at my home last evening, but I forgot already. Do they last a good amount of time or do they last like 2-3 hours? When I play Starcraft II, some people's mouse die in the middle of games so if they're not korean good they can't do much.

For some reason, the batteries of my mouse already died one time and have 68% left while my keyboard is still at 100%. Got them since something like a month.

Ah ok so they last a decent amount of time? Also what kind of battery do they use? AAA's or batteries like in the TI-Nspire that you recharge via USB? I was wondering because if I ever got a mac like that or a similar keyboard/mouse for Windows, I would hate having to change batteries every 3 hours.

Decent amount of time, not sure. Not every 3 hours though. More like a month. And it's AA batteries.

I use the Trust-MI-7700R. I recommend that one. Batteries last super long and stuff.
and it's definitely below €80

Just to throw it out there as an alternative, why not try a trackball? I have a Logitech Marble Mouse and it's excellent.

I've had it for 3 years now, and it's just as solid as one day one. I also play plenty of games with it, including FPS and strategy games, and it's fine.

For a travel mouse I essentially use this:

I got about 4 of them from my university, each with a different design, and they have each lasted years. They are also surprisingly good; I can happily use the mouse on any surface, with no issues, and it's one of the main reasons I use it. It's also dirt cheap, so if it does break after a few months, no worries.
