Half Life 2 + Portal = HL2 Episode 3 ?

So yeah, I came up with this idea.
At the end of HL2 E2, Eli and Dr Kleiner mention the Borealis : Aperture science's (doesn't it remind you something ?) research ship which was found by Judith. You are about to go there with Alyx. I'll find a video.

I came by this while escaping in Portal 1 a minute ago.

Also, there are a lot of similarities : HEPs and Fusion Cores are the same thing, Aperture and Combine logos look close to each other, turrets, SFX, the final song also mentions Black Mesa.

=> One thing is clear : both stories are linked. Is HL2 E3 the bridge ?

Well, they ARE set in the same universe. And with Chell being thrown out of Aperture in P2, I think a storyline convergence is natural.

Nice, then. I hope that we get a multi party system or change characters along the game. And we should meet our good ol' friend portal gun again. :P
Edit : Also I wonder if both storylines are paralell or consecutive because that might impact what I said.

I heard from imo_inx that there is in fact going to be a Portal3. I wouldn't think it would be this though, I thought it would be another game on the Portal series...

Well, maybe HL2E3 and Portal 3 could be the first step towards storyline convergence, and then another game would come out mixing up everything.
I remember that light bridges are the same in both games too (see HL2E1 and P2).

Actually, HL 1 is set in 200x and HL 2 20 years later while Portal 1 is set in 2010 and Portal 2 100 years later, which indicates that HL 2 E3 will not be be a Portal prequel nor a convergence point with Chell since she's "sleeping" at this point.
Which makes me wonder then : why isn't there any alien invasion consequences in portal ?
