BLACK SCREEN!

ok, so im playing this cool pong game for my TI-83, right?  When I press the quit button (MODE), my calculator crashes.  But, instead of a RAM CLEARED message, my entire calculator screen turns completely black, and it does go away.  I had to take ALL my batteries out, not just one, to get the screen blank.  I wonder if this is going to cause any permanent damage or anything to my calculator (it's working fine now), anyone have any idea what this is?  ???

Mhmm if after putting the batteries back you get a ram clear message after pressing ON it should be all fine. Else try a ON+Clear (hides all programs from menus until next RAM clear) or ON+Del while putting back the 4th battery. If your calculator still won't turn ON afterward then it might be a problem it has, but technically a calculator program cannot damage the calculator unless it causes a blue screen of death and you let the BSOD run for over a minute or so (which can damage the LCD)

oh my god.  i think the screen was blue!  wow, but how? 

I dont know what happened.  I pressed the quit button, but suddenly the screen froze, and it turned all black(blue, whatever).  I kept on pressing 2nd ON (OFF BUTTON), but nothing made the screen go away.  Finally, i took out all the batteries and stuff.  But when i turned the calculator back on, there was no RAM CLEARED message.  So does that mean my calculator is ruined?

i am 100% sure the contrast was fine.  I think maybe it was some weird glitch or something.  when i took out the batteries, the screen slowly faded away, not suddenly like it usually does.

SOmetimes it's the programs that causes that. It should be all fine I guess

yea, i've had some awkward things happen when writing my own key hooks and stuff, but no lasting damage=)
