Sending Programs
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:22:49 pm »
First of all, I got the OS version 2.43 for the 84+ here:
http://ourl.ca/8921

I don't know if it's because of this, but I notice two things different from before:

1) When transferring something from the computer to the calculator through TI-Connect, a number always appears near the bottom of the screen. It increases each time I transfer a program, and sometimes it resets.

2) Some programs started transferring (according to the TI-Connect pop-up window that appears during a transfer), but sometimes they never appear on the calculator after the transferring. Examples are the 011511.zip file (Graviter) and the January 27 release of Graviter, and the two pictures for the TI 84+ Randomness program (the program works just fine, though).

Are these two differences because of PolyPatch or possibly something else?

I have a possibility. The programs that don't send to my calculator are the ones that send to Archive memory, since I changed a program to send to RAM, and it worked just fine.

However, is there a reason there is that number at the bottom?

I think the number at the bottom is part of the patch installed by polyPatch84. I believe that that is a packet counter. Do bigger files end up having a bigger number?

Penguin, I think it is too. I have the patched OS installed, and all transfers increase the counter regularly. It would only make sense. ;D

When I send files to my TI-Nspire in 84+ mode (with OS 2.54MP) a number appears where's located the cursor. (Usually the 2 digit) ???

btw: i have os 2.55MP
apps installed, when error occurred and still on my calc:
- axe
- mirageOS
- the psyche (im not sure when i downloaded that one)
- Sketchy

i also had the problem when i had 2.43 installed for a short time.

Thanks Penguin and calcdude84se.  :D

I still don't know why files won't send if they automatically send to archive memory, though. Do I also need to do a RAM Clear or something of that sort?

Ram Clear.

I occasionally have to do this, too. I believe it is due to having a hook go awry or maybe the OS itself doesn't allocate its RAM usage properly (meaning it might accidentally use RAM vital to USB protocol). Either way, clearing the ram once or twice usually fixes that up for me. Otherwise, I shut down my computer and restart it :D

HI
Okay, seriously? Is that all you are going to post?  This isn't the Introduce yourself section. ;-)  Your other post in uPong was kinda content-less as well.  We like content. :D  (Not to be rude, I see that you are a friend of prince Happbobjr's.  A friend of a prince is a friend of mine)

Now then, sometimes the USB drive is simply strange.  Try this without the patch, and tell me if sending to archive fails please.
