I don't hate wine, sometimes use it myself, but must it be installed by default in this distro?
Most calculator programs have a Linux port, or something alike.
The only program I haven't found (but I haven't really looked) a version for Linux is CalcCapture.
If you don't want it, just uninstall it.
And due to most people using windows, it is a good idea to have it installed. Also, the nspire emulator's linux companion isn't up to date enough to work well, so it's best to use the wine version.
Most TI things don't have much linux support, except for TiLP2 so it's best to make this OS give you as many options as possible.

Oh, ok. I don't know much about the nspire stuff, so I'll let you guys decide about that.
Also, the nspire reminds me about casio calcs. Maybe you could include some software those calculators?
I don't know much about these calcs either, just giving some ideas :)

ExtendeD used DevC++ for C in the NSpire.

I actually think DevC++ is actually a very nice tool for C/C++ development, it's extremely lightweight and powerful!

Could you (and everyone else who is requesting files) please post links to them so we can try them out?

Also, what are the minimum system requirements of OmnimagaOS? I'd like to see if I can run this thing in DOSbox, or off of my flash drive.

Oh, and it would be really cool if the interface could be ported to calc. :D

I'm adding Mono to the software list so tiDE will work ;)
Also, I know Suse is KDE by default, will a Gnome version be available?

I thought of something more lightweight than GNOME, but stil GNOME-ish, such as LXDE, if we want to run it on old computers. But still, it will depend of if we want to run it on old computers or not. If not, I'll pick GNOME for sure.

@Sir: TiDE must not depend on Windows DLLs if we want to make it work with Mono. I didn't looked at it since a while (sorry...), is it still the case?

juju, that is the case, but it shouldn't be a big problem in the long run.

lxde still has some issues, I think Gnome would be the best bet and an in between for all other choices so people can switch it up if they want afterwords.

*bump*

Ok, so I found out why I can't boot it. It seems that in order to use PAE you have to enable it in your emulator. In Oracle VM Virtualbox (or just VirtualBox) after you import the machine (convert it with tools and stuff) and add the vdi to a machine, right click on the machine, Settings>System>CPU (or processor) and check the pae option.
Still don't know if it runs, need to re-download it and convert it to test.

Wish I could work on this, I keep trying to find a "template" for a Linux build with GNOME and the basic packages, but I'm having a hard time with finding out how to organize the files into an install/live CD. I can work on the graphics to make a custom theme for the bundled WM.

So I've picked up working on a Arch version of this, got it booting off of a 8GB USB and I'm going to build it from there :)

EDIT: Screenshot of me working on it :)
